"Woke up to water pooling under the water heater.  Called Boyer after the plumber I had previously used quoted me an outrageous price (and told me it would take 1-2 days to complete).  The owner, Loren, called and set up a time with me, that same afternoon.  They showed up right on time, and had the old tank removed and the new one in place in about an hour.  They were friendly, fast, clean, and made the whole process a breeze. <br /> Great work, fair prices, super nice guys, and I had hot water by afternoon!  I have nothing but great things to say about them, and they will absolutely be my plumbers from now on.  <br />"

"<p>The installers showed up promptly. They brought all the appropriated fixtures to complete the install. On the first day I believe they were about 3/4 done with the project. I thought the installation would take about 3 days to complete. The installers were very professional and friendly. They answered all my questions and they made sure I understood what they were doing and why they were doing it.</p> <p>When they finished up the first day, they cleaned up leaving only the materials they needed to finish the project the next day. There was little to no inconvenience for me during the install.<br /> <br /></p> <br />"

".As I stated above, Bruce solved the problem and saved me probably close to $250. <br /> When I called them on Friday I talked with David (I think)..He said he couldn't get somebody out until Monday and they would call to schedule a time...Sure enough they called in the morning and said Bruce would be out approx. 12 noon...Bruce called at approx. 11:45 and said he was on the way. When he repaired the faucet; he showed me and quot;exactlyand quot; what to do if it happened again which he said it probably would in maybe 5 years or so. He also showed me what he did as I observed him apply the torch and break things apart to replace what was bad. <br /> This is without a doubt, the and quot;bestand quot; experience I have ever had with a Plumbing Company since my old plumber retired last year..We had been using him for over 20 years as I hope we will continue using KIME just as long. <br /> I might also add that the only reason I picked KIME was from the reviews I looked at on Angie's List...Without that I would have probably paid over $250 for work that did not need to be done. I totally recommend KIME and Angie's List !!! <br />"

"Tom was great. He was easily able to remedy the problem. Another, much larger company said the drain couldn't be unclogged with normal equipment. Tom discovered the "other guys" weren't correctly identifying certain parts of the plumbing assembly and he was able to make short work of it. His costs were also about 1/2 of the bigger company that misdiagnosed the work to begin with."

"We had a big clog!. Icky stuff was backing up in our kitchen sink. <br /> We called friends and posted requests on Facebook for a Good Plumber. <br /> Integrity Plumbing was a name given to us. We called, they came <br /> in a very timely manner, assessed the situation, taking everything into <br /> account. He looked at the pipe on the roof, 'things' in the basement, <br /> and of course the kitchen drain. With in a matter of minutes, the clog <br /> was gone. The price was better than we were anticipating, the quality of <br /> work was beyond our expectations. We will be calling them to replace <br /> some faucets in the near future. And we Will be calling them for any plumbing <br /> problems we have. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Cheney, KS

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
