My name is Tom Valletto owner of Valletto’s Handy Man service, also a proud comrade of the United States Marine Corps of the reserves. Having a father that owns a construction business that’s been around since 1980 I gained tons of experience, knowledge, and wisdom. I now have a small company of my own to help people In need for any minor home repairs or any kind of other small projects. I give free estimates and fair prices, I do my best to insure the best quality work that there is. I am very meticulous and take pride in all my work no matter what it is or what I’m doing. I do things the right way and to the best of my ability. I’m located in Langhorne PA but I do work almost anywhere.

"I called Handy Power washing to clean my mother's house. 25 years of north side algae and lot of close trees had taken its toll on her siding. Tom responded promptly, gave a quote fast, and sheduled me for just a few days later. He arrived early and was 100% professional. He answered all my questions, taped off the external outlets, and got to cleaning right away. I was shocked how well her house looked when he was done. Even the areas I thought weren't dirty were now multiple shades brighter! Her siding is a quarter century old and Handy Power Washing had it looking brand new in under three hours. I couldn't be happier with experience with Tom and his company. Thanks!"

Homeowners could spend days reading everything there is to know about roof stains and what to do about them. We've been removing those stains for 10 years now, day in and day out, so we have the necessary expertise. Here's what is going on up there: Algae spores present in the atmosphere land on your roof all the time. If an area happens to be damp and shaded from the sun, algae and possibly moss, lichen, etc. start to flourish. You may notice your roof stains are worse on the shady side of your roof. In order to grow, algae needs nourishment, which it finds inside your shingles in the form of a limestone filler. In other words, algae is eating your shingles, which, as we all know, are pretty important in protecting your home. If allowed to grow long enough, you most likely will be looking at a premature and costly roof replacement.

"Very pleased with the service. Paul's professionalism was very much appreciated and I highly recommend him."

"I selected SECI Construction from a list of 3 provided by Angi's List. It was the last contractor that I interviewed, on April 15, 2025. Although the estimates from contractors #1 and #3 were close, I chose SECI Construction, contractor #3. Contractor #2 was too low, I thought, and didn't give me a comfortable feeling. All contractors inspected the attic, but only the SECI rep, who was also the supervisor of the job, went on the roof and did a thorough inspection. We spent about 3 hours going over the details of the project, after which he gave me a price of $10,000 for the complete job, which would include up to 192 sq ft of plywood to replace any damaged wood. I charged $3000 on my credit card as a down payment. The crew chief arrived on Tuesday, Aprill 22, 2025, at about 7:00 am, while the rest of the work crew arrived by 7:30 am. They placed tarps around most the house to protect the shrubbery from falling debris. The project supervisor arrived later. The asphalt shingles and vapor barrier had been removed down the wood by about 12:30 pm. It was then that the project supervisor came to tell me that some of the existing wood, which is 3/4" tongue and groove, was starting to come up at the joints, and would splinter if more nails were put into it. Walking on it, he said, it did not feel very secure. At no time during our original 3-hour discussion did he mention this possibility, given the age of the home, nor did he give me any indication that he suspected this during his inspection while on the roof or in the attic. He offered 2 solutions: the first was to tear off all of the existing wood, down to the rafters, and replace it with plywood. This would be the more expensive of the two, and he didn't think all of the work would be completed that day. The second was to make any necessary repairs to the existing wood, then cover the whole roof with plywood. He said that, should I decide to install the new asphalt shingles on top of the existing wood, chances were that I would need a new roof much sooner than if I followed one of his solutions. My impression of the roof from ground level was that it looked sound, especially since it had not been leaking. Even when I examined sections of the old wood after his crew began making repairs, I didn't see anything that couldn't continue to be used. I felt coerced into going along with his second solution, which I finally agreed to. The additional work amounted to about $8800, even with some discounts, as well as masonry and flashing work, which he said he did at no additional cost. This additional work also included a surcharge for using my credit card, only making matters worse. When I called the office to complain, a salesperson told me that he would only be able to give me a 10% discount, which, he said, the project supervisor had already done. When I asked who was above him, I was told it was the owner. When I asked to speak to the owner, the salesperson told me that he would relay my story to the owner, and that the owner would speak to the supervisor. The supervisor told me the next day that the owner was upset with him for giving me the discounts he gave me. The crew was totally professional, working together as a team that obviously knew what they were doing. I have nothing but praise for them and their crew chief, who worked right alongside them."

FAQs for roof cleaning service projects in Chesterfield, NJ

To find a reputable ice dam removal company, check verified customer reviews and ensure they have the proper credentials. Look at online testimonials and consult reputable agencies like the Better Business Bureau to validate their service record. Contact the company to ask about their experience, hourly rates, and safety practices. This helps ensure you're hiring a pro with proven expertise and a solid track record to protect your home from ice dam damage.

Ice dams can cause extensive damage that jeopardizes your entire roof structure. They can lead to issues like attic condensation, broken roof sheathing, persistent leaks, visible wall water stains, mold in your attic insulation, sagging drywall, rotting attic framing, and roof collapse. This damage compromises your home's integrity and requires immediate professional attention to ensure proper repair and safety.

Most insurance policies don’t include coverage for the removal of ice dams since it's considered preventive maintenance. However, damage caused by ice dams—such as roof collapse, extensive water damage, or structural failures—may be covered by your policy. It's a good idea to contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage.

Removing snow from your roof can help prevent ice dams. Use a proper roof rake from the ground or a safe ladder—never climb onto an icy roof. Also, consider addressing any inadequate attic insulation that may cause heat leakage. Promptly clearing snow minimizes risks and helps maintain a safe, durable roof.
