"From the estimate, where all my questions were answered to questions asked while making my decision, Freeman stood out far and above all the other Roofing Companies. My roof was put on yesterday. Prompt on time arrival through to the clean up of all material, including looking for any fallen nails with a metal detector, I am more than happy with Freeman Roofing. Would recommend them to everyone."

"Derek arrived ON TIME! He was pleasant and explained the differences between a metal roof and a shingle roof. Showed me how his product worked and was installed. Took his time measuring my roof and even told me about a problem he spotted with my porch roof that needed to be attended to. I haven't made up my mind yet if I'm going with shingle or metal roof, but Hickman Roofing is at the top of my list because they took the time to make me feel comfortable and understand the roofing process and what should be expected from any company. Thanks! <br />"

"Thank you so much Galloway Roofing. Hurricane Ian hit us Sept 28, 2022. My house was hit really bad, many damages. Many Thanks to Robert and Galloway Roofing they came in November and in 3 days we had a new roof. Their crew worked tirelessly and cleaned up. They Amazed me. So very, very grateful to our local roofer!"

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"It went excellent. Can't say enough good things about them. I was in charge of the projects and got estimates from five different roofing companies, they weren't the most expensive or even the least, they just made the most sense. I would recommend them."

"<p>I first spoke with the owner, Hernan Angamarca, in the fall of 2013.  He came to our home to look at what I thought might be a simple matter of realigning some loose tile on the 20 year old roof of the home we had just purchased.  Hernan inspected the roof and asked me to join him on top.  He said the tile had slipped so badly that any attempt to remove and reset the tile would only further damage the secondary water barrier and cause leaking which at this point we had not observed.  Further there were a large number of cracked and broken tiles.  He did say that I might have as much as another 3-5 years before the roof system failed entirely.  He gave me an estimate of 50 square and a ballpark price of about 15K.</p> <p>Being cautious, I set out contact a number of roofing companies in the area and did get an additional quote from a large outfit in the Cape Coral area for 50% more shingles than Hernan had quoted (75 square and 21K).  I spoke with Hernan again and told him I would get back to him once my finances were in order but first I needed to sell another property.</p> <p>In February 2014, we had the money available and called Hernan to get me an exact quote on the job.  He was quick to respond and I signed a contract for the work to be done the last week of February.  He said he would be able to do the job in 6 days and could start within a month.  A few days later he called to say he could start almost immediately as another large job was just put on hold due to finances.  He simply needed to pull the permit and order and arrange delivery of the supplies.  Bang, the dumpster showed up and he and his crew set about to do the job.  The work went very well and bam we had a new roof - a very complicated multi angled roof with an inordinate number of peaks and valleys. </p> <p>Hernan is a knowledgeable professional and a capable roofer.  He arrived on time every time whenever he said he would, did the job in the time he said it would take and was within a bundle of shingles of his 50 square estimate.  Hernan was on the job at all times.  He treats his men well and when they work they WORK.  Would I use this company again?  Absolutely.  Would I recommend this company to others?  Wholeheartedly.  I appreciate hard workers.</p> <p>As an aside, in my younger days, I had the pleasure of doing quite a bit of roofing up north so I was not completely in the dark about the work being done.  I'd have enjoyed working with these guys.  Almost grabbed a hammer more than once.  Showing my age - they don't use hammers anymore.</p> <p>One little surprise: there is a 5% discount for Angie's list members.  It was not made clear until the final bill was presented that the maximum discount was $300 and did not apply to the total project.  Ouch!</p> <p><br /></p> ."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Chokoloskee, FL

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
