"We purchased a townhome in Flagstaff several months ago. The unit is situated on a small hill with a pine forest to the rear. There was a small patio in the rear yard. However, the soil was eroding down the hill into the valley below and the patio was cracking due to the unstable soil. I contacted Angelsun Landscaping and Michael inspected the problem and came up with a solution to stop the erosion and stabilize the rear yard with a retaining wall and extending our brick paver patio. JP, Michael's father suggested additional items and solutions. The work took just a little over a week. We were not at the property while the work was taking place. When we arrived to view the work...we were totally blown away by the improvements. They were better than expected. The new patio was magnificent!! In addition, an aluminum wrought iron style fence was added plus a planting area. All the work exceeded our expectations. JP and Michael are the consummate professionals and we would not hesitate to have them do any landscaping work we may have in the future."

"Overall Excellent work. We thought Premier Paradise worked primarily on pool design, but we were surprised and quite happy contacted them for our home patio project!  Jeromey Naugle (owner) offered a design that looked great. He submitted the design to the county and provided the paperwork for the HOA, making our work minimal. The crew who did the work were pleasant, hardworking and paid attention to quality. Everything had a level applied to it and a lot of customized work/design was required. Jeromey had custom steel doors made for the fireplace and oven, and designed the airflow to maximize heat distribution to the oven above, like that of a convection oven. It was evident that Jeromey researched the design thoroughly. We also have plenty of room for wood storage. The spa fit perfectly in the expanded patio space and Jeromey coordinated the date and installation work with the Spa company we purchased the spa from. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and have made fantastic pizza with the oven that has no difficulty reaching 400 degrees.  Congratulations to Jeromey and his fine crew for an excellent product that I do recommend to others."

"At first it appeared everything was spectacular, it looked wonderful, the design appeared great. Then the problems started to happen. We had buffalo grass plugs turning brown and we were told we were over watering. Then we were told we were underwatering. We were using the schedule they provided to the letter and checking moisture by feeling the dirt down to the depth of the root system. At first Sarah was very responsive, but when she figured out that there were real problems which I was not going to drop, her final gesture was to drop off a bag of buffalo grass seed and tell us just throw on the surface of the soil when the monsoons begin, don't rake them in, well anyone could take a look at my yard and know they were just going to wash away. A simple 15 minute Google search on Buffalo Grass showed that studies from the University of Nebraska and Denver showed that the plugs do go dormant 2-4 weeks after planting, which Sarah vehemently denied. They never bothered to see if the soil was appropriate for this native grass, we are on clay, which is absolutely inappropriate for this type of grass. The border they cemented in on a downward slope now creates a lake every time we have a moderate to heavy rainfall, so it drowns the grass completely in that area, so now I either need to call someone in to put a drain that goes under the barrier or break out some of the bricks. We chose them because of their supposed expertise in low water native plants and now we will be having Vista Landscaping redoing 60% of the backyard. We recently had the home appraised and the appraiser wouldn't believe that the bushes, trees and grass were professionally done. I guess that says it all. I am positive that their response will be I didn't take enough care of it, but I have all the correspondence asking if the care they were getting was correct, along with photos."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Clay-springs, AZ

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
