"BAC was fantastic! They installed my roof 5 1/2 years ago, and when I called them to try to find the source of some leaks after a recent heavy rain, a technician came within 2 days. He checked all the roofing seals and did some minor repair to one seal and to the stucco where water might have been coming in. Someone came out a few days later and did water testing. The source of the leaks turned out not to be the roof but unsealed penetrations in the stucco. For all the work and a substantial amount of time they spent, plus repairing the source of the leaks, no charges were incurred by me. I highly recommend BAC Enterprises. They are reputable, professional, and stand behind their work."

"The arrived when expected and very efficiently inspected and made minor repairs and declared our roof to be in really good condition. I really appreciated their honesty and did not feel like they were there just to sell me a new roof when I did not need one. I would definitely use them again."

"We were very happy with his professionalism. (I called appropriate NM licensing departments and County offices to confirm that Richards Roofing was licensed & in good standing with the state of NM and with Los Alamos County and were knowledgeable about roofing work that did & did not require permitting.)"

"We had just bought a house, and had contracted Roswell Roofing to come repair and reshingle the roof. We hadn't moved in yet, but we came over to let the plumbers in we had hired to start work so that we could move in, and found the roofers at the house working on the roof a day early. The boss apologized about starting a day early, but we told them that was quite all right with us, the sooner the work is done, the sooner we could move in. <br /> They did run into a few issues, the pitch on our carport wasn't steep enough for regular shingles as we first thought is was, and we had more layers of shingles on one section of roof then the the rest of the roof. The boss went over all the details with us on the spot, and discussed the price change for what they had found that was not expected, which was only $260 more than the original price. He has all the info waiting for us when we arrived, even though we were not expected until the next day. <br /> We had a crew of 2 men. They had the roof and carport completely stripped by the middle of the first day, and had started putting on the new shingles. They were starting to pack up for the night when it started to rain (which we all know in Roswell is a rare occurrence.) They stayed and made sure all parts of the roof that could be damaged by the rain were shingled quickly and secured before they came down and called it a night. <br /> They had left their drink cooler behind. They did such a quick job and made sure we were taken care of in the rain, that we returned the favor by making sure they had enough to drink, and refilling the ice for them so their cooler was ready in the morning for them. <br /> They showed up bright and early at 6 am the following morning. They were around until about 7 pm, when they finished cleaning up and hauling everything away. <br /> The 3rd day, they came back to finish up sealing the edges around all the vents, they were done in about an hour. <br /> All in all they were fast, especially for a 2 man crew. They made sure we were taken care of, they were very polite, always saying good morning when we came out of the house, or asking if our day was going well. They cleaned up after themselves well, and left no messes behind. They even trimmed back some tree branches for us at no extra charge so they weren't hitting the roof. <br /> We will definitely call them again if we have any more roofing needs. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for roofing work. <br />"

"It's been 8 years since my roof was done and it still looks great. I guess the best compliment I've had in a while came from my neighbor who chose Fort Seldon Roofing based on my recommendation and told me how satisfied he was with the entire experience. He said he paid a little more for his energy efficient TPO roof than ordinary roofs from competing roofers but he knows the investment will pay off for years."

"Work was done very well. It took 3 weeks longer than scheduled due to issues with an old house and workmen being fired by company and new hires sent in. Mike Fortenberry & our contractor, Carl Miller, stands by the project and is still attending to small details a month after completion. Great rapport with both! It's all guaranteed, so they will come out and fix any of their work that needs repair in the future. We also had them do a roof repair and roof replacement on a 2nd structure (quick, professional, quality work)."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Clovis, NM

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
