"We have a 3 storey house and the team at Brite Idea came out and put up the lights on the house. They had to come out a second day with a longer ladder to finish up but the end job was worth the wait. We did the lights around the bushes which balanced the others beautifully. We agreed to a 3 year contract which suits us since we love having the house lit up for the holidays. I'm sure we'll continue as long as we live here."

"Dealing with Maintain It All was great. Everyone we dealt with was very friendly and totally professional. We appreciated the frequent emails from them concerning the status of the service to be provided. Ryan, the estimator, was on time , and glad to answer any and all questions. He thoroughly explained what the job would entail, and the costs. He was efficient and professional. The technicians who did the cleaning, Keith and Mike, were likewise on time. They were really efficient, and were able to finish the job in short order. We appreciated the fact that they frequently asked if there were any parts of the house we wanted them to focus on. All in all, a great experience. The house looks fantastic. We definitely will use Maintain It All again."

"Anthony and his team have been awesome. We found them on Angie's List this past fall and haven't looked back. First we had them help with leaf clean-up and some fall pruning and plantings. During that project we talked about holiday decorating and Anthony was great about helping plan. He and his crew tackled the job enthusiastically and pulled off a lighting array we could never have done ourselves. To their credit, they worked some long hours in some very inclement weather - they were determined to get us ready for the holiday in advance of their committed date. When's the last time any contractor got done early?!! These guys did! So you can understand that when we needed help with all the snow this winter, Anthony was our go-to guy. While we chose to manage a few snow falls ourselves, Anthony did the heavy lifting and was always available when we really needed him. During one of our many overnight snowfalls, my wife woke up in the morning, looked out the window, and told me...hey there must have been elves here, your sidewalks and driveway are all clear. These guys are just awesome. One of the things I like best is the great communications - we never wonder what's happening because we're kept well informed. We're looking forward to having their help this Spring. We're planning some work we've been putting off for years because we've found THE right contractor for us! And if you live in the NorthEast, you know Spring can't get here soon enough... Thanks Creative Lawn Care and Landscaping!

"Received a quote which was higher than we wanted right now. Denver called back a week or so later and said they had two jobs, and some down time, in our neighborhood and could do our work for substantially less than originally quoted. When crew arrived, they agreed to wash additional areas at a very reasonable price. The work was completed professionally and efficiently. Crew very courteous. We later signed up for the yearly wash program, which I consider t be a very good value."

"Trevor came out to our house based on our neighbor's recommendation and gave us an estimate for a total redesign our our landscaping. This included excavating, removing an old cement walkway, all new plants and a paver walkway. We split the yard in two parts and he just finished part 1 (the back yard), which was top dressing & leveling, ripping out the old plants and redesigning the beds. I think they did a great job, were flexible when working around my other contractors, and fair priced. After our job was complete, Trevor came out to pick up his check and look at the work; some of the soil had settled due to a hard rain, so he had the guys come out two days later to re-soil and seed. We still have the big half of the job to do but we're pretty confident based on what we have seen so far."

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Collegeville, PA

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
