"Our yard was in somewhat bad shape due to several years of neglect (I grew up in the city and am not well-versed in lawncare; despite all our efforts the yard was dying due to a combination of factors). Someone from Champion showed up at our door for a free estimate with hours of my leaving a message on their machine. I thought the quote I was given for lawn fertilization throughout the year was extremely reasonable. In fact, it is about 50% cheaper (approximately $78 per application for a yard that is about 1/2 acre) than what I would have paid to do the work myself (not to mention the time I would have to put in as well). You pay as the work is done. We have had two fertilizations so far and our yard looks so much better than it did two months ago. I am so pleased with the service provided by Champion so far!"

"My only contact with these people has been by email but it’s always been pleasant and satisfying. They came a good distance up to the North Shore to take care of a very small plot infested with Japanese knotweed. They handle a very dangerous chemical product that no one should handle who doesn’t know how. They’ve been regular over three years (two visits a year) and there is a promise to treat again if any new shoots appear. All that has a price that I considered proper. Only time will tell if the treatment has been truly effective. Unfortunately, if the spores are air-borne from who knows where as seems to be the case, it can still come back again. There’s nothing they or anyone else can do to stop that."

"Each time I use Snow's I am really happy. This is a family business, from the Grandfather who delivers my mulch who always come promptly, puts the mulch just where I want it and asks about my welfare (he worries I am a woman on my own, so sweet) to the office staff and estimators that are either family or feel like one. They have helped me visualize projects and helped me keep the costs reasonable. These folks are professionals, reasonably priced and will give you just what you need."

"Beautifully!  My mower is on the fritz, and Mr. Turn graciously came the same day I called and mowed the lawn.  He also offered to mow the back lawn, however my back gate would not allow the large mower inside.  Gave me suggestions on how to facilitate entry for next visit, should I desire to have the back lawn mowed as well.  Was quite willing to physically move discarded items from a resent basement flood so that mowing could be accomplished, but indicated that I had someone coming on the weekend to accomplish that task.  Very helpful, courteous, and quickly finished the job, including clean-up.  I was very grateful for his help, and will use his service again. <br />"

"It was great. <br /> We were hit by the October snow storm that made us loose power for 5+ days, powerlines down, trees down, half down, etc. I needed a good number of trees to remove and I began looking for a and quot;tree-guyand quot; to come over anf give me an estimate. Half never even showed up, of the half that did they were quoting crazy prices and couldn't give me a date to do the work , or....never called me back. Well, I always thought Northern Tree was sexpensive, I see their trucks all over, they have all the big trucks and tools, so I never bothered to call them Then I got frustrated. <br /> I called Northern Tree, the guy came out for an estimate (on time), I did the walk-through, he asked me questions, he explained how they bring equipment that does notdig up the yard. He explained that they would bring a crane to remove 3 trres over a fence...I thought, this is going to be expensive. <br /> He got in his car, had a tablet, printed out the quote and brought it right back. He was almost the lowest and I knew exactly what I was going to get. He said 2 weeks. Done. <br /> To the day, their equipment was at my house, naturally they called in advance, theydid the work, NO grass damage because they put down these specially made mats down. They were polite, professional, went right to work. <br /> I was so impressed when they left, after the project was done (on-time). I should have called them for all of my previous tree work instead of the slugs I did hire who dug up my yard to make it easier on them. <br /> Northern Tree is like having the Army Corp of Engineers come over and do work at a reasonable price. <br /> Don' hesitate to call these guys from Palmer up and give you a quote. You won't be disappointed. <br />"

"The job went really well and we are very pleased with the results. Jason was there to explain step by step what needed to happen and made recommendations along the way to help improve the final product. It was a lot more work than we realized but we were never disappointed throughout the process. Jason has a very professional team working for him. They were great at cleaning up at the end of every day and taking extra care to not damage any of the existing scrubs and trees near the project. Although we spent a little more than we planned initially, we are now pleased that we did as it improved the overall look of our new patio. The foundation is extremely solid and I'm sure will last many, many years. Jason and his team will not cut corners. They do it right from day one. Don't expect the cheapest price but you will get a fair price. Remember, most importantly, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!"

"Jeff and his crew are very good and professional at what they do. They clean up daily, (as it took 4 days to build this pond) as it is hard work. They go above and beyond expectations and the pond looks like it was always there, as they have a great eye for what would look natural. I, myself am a landscaper, but trust my pond building to someone that is experienced in that area, as I respect him and his work. I would recommend Jeff and Picture Perfect Ponds to  anyone that is interested in having a pond or water feature in their yard.  The wonderful thing about having a pond, is that it is relaxing and a great getaway in our own yard. <br />"

"We had Hartley Borthers come out to do an estimate in the middle of Aug, they said they would get it to us in writing in a week and we got it about two weeks later. At that time they estimated the project would take 3-4 weeks and that they could start right away. Their proposal added some interesting touches, better lighting, larger bar, nice fire pit, and more paver area. Of the 3 proposals we got Hartley offered the most for a bit less money. <br /> Hartley ended up starting around the 4th of Sept. At that time I told them to book the plumber and book the electrian since I didn't want to have to worry about scheduling them to be there when Hartley needed them. Work moved quickly at first and they held to the agreed upon payment schedule with few issues. The work was good quality and things were going well. <br /> Then the issues started. They conitnued to not get a plumber out to the job and they kept holding off on bringing in the electrician. There was absolutley no reason the electrician could not have been out there in the first week to tap in to our electrical system and run it outside but he wasn't brought in till the end. Finally I had to hire a plumber myself since Hartley could not get someone to the job. <br /> They also screwed up the math on the final counter and bar heights in relationship to the pavers. The countertop has 3-4 inches too low and so was the bar height. This is critical when buying chairs and stools. This all had to be corrected after the fact hurting some of the work and design IMO. <br /> This all brings us to two things, time and money. About 9 weeks in to the job, yes you read that right 9 weeks in to a and quot;3-4 weekand quot; job, and they weren't finished yet they started to press me for final payment. The contract clearly stated no final payment until the job was done and there were still 5-10 parts that needed to be finished. They told me they had bills they had to pay, insurance they needed to pay, and payroll they needed to make. I told him I will put that check in your hand the second you finish just like the contract says and you are NOT finished. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine from builders of all types. All to often they take money from their next job to cover their current job. If you end up being the last job of the season like we were or they hit a slow patch during your job their cash flow goes to $0 and they can't finish the job. <br /> At this point they started to rush to get things done as they needed payment. Part of the job included removing some rocks, a rock wall and bobcat work. This job was rushed and poorly done. A large rock that was supposed to be covered is no sticking through the dirt and needs to be fixed. The seeding ended up being to late to grow and we were left with a bad impression of the whole job. <br /> 11 weeks after the first payment was made and 13 weeks after they came out to look at the yard our and quot;3-4 weeksand quot; project was done. It was obvisous to us that they under priced the job, under estimated the time, and have company cash flow problems all leading to a very poor ending impression for us. <br /> It is too bad the good work was tainted by horrendous book keeping and business management, but sadly these tactics aren't uncommon in the building trade. <br />"
