"I needed a gardener who could get rid of my lawn and replace it with drought-resistant plants.  Martin Gonzalez provided  the know-how and energy to do a tremendous job.  He made me aware of various options I hadn't thought of and his excellent <br /> recommendations resulted in my getting far more benefits than I originally expected -- at a  reasonable price.  Martin and his crew are fast, efficient workers who are knowledgable and  do a careful, neat job. <br />  I was so pleased with Martin's front yard work that I asked him to fix up my back yard which was an overgrown mess after  55 years. He converted it into a useful, pleasant area.  I highly recommend Gonzalez Gardening and Landscaping.I will definitely call Martin for future gardening projects. <br />"

"It went very well.  Excellent customer service.  When part of the new lawn did not take, they replaced it.  A couple of the plants did not take and they are going to replace them.  The crew were very professional.  They were working in very hot weather we were experiencing at that time.  When the job was completed we were very happy.  The front yard looks so different with the dry bed creek going through the yard.  We have had many compliments about our front yard.  People were even taking pictures of the front yard because they too loved the design. <br />"

"They tilled my frontyard and put new soil. new grass and new sprinklers. fixed fence, install gate, install drain, etc. Jose was very easy to communicate with. Gave a detailed description and estimate. Very professional. Felt confident in choosing him even though his estimate was higher. He didnt rush through the job. Took his time and made it perfect. Quite smart and came up with solutions for a sprinkler situation. Highly recommended!"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Coyote, CA

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
