IPM Landscapes, LLC
James Petrillo, owner of IPM Landscapes, is an experienced environmentalist who opened a company to fill a gap for property owners who enjoy eye appealing landscapes but struggle to find services that produce a product with low ecological impact. During his tenure with PGA TOUR Agronomy, James developed his IPM approach. In the golf industry, there are many challenges to maintain a championship quality product. His time with the PGA gave James great access to and hands-on experience with, creating and preserving low-cost, environmentally sensitive areas registered with the National Audubon Society. In order to maintain Audubon status, these areas must be low-maintenance, esthetically pleasing and provide natural food and shelter for native wildlife. IPM is an acronym for Integrated Pest Management, an approach to dealing with the various pests of crops, landscapes, and structures, which incorporates multiple concepts from the disciplines of systems science, and ecology.
"Never finished the job. We received a quote, approved it and heard nothing for over a month. He admitted he forgot. He said he was going to send four guys, to showed up late. They did not seem to know what was going on . My wife explained to them what she wanted, and to the owner a month before . Only part of the work asked was done. They kept on saying we will be back to finish. Still waiting . The owner and his crew basically called my wife a liar to me. Said she accepted the work and didn?t want to pay more. The quote was nearly $2,000 and we approved and were ok with that. The invoice came and was a little over $1,500 and my paid it right away. Now I know why it was lower , the job wasn?t finished . The kicker less than a week later weeds are growing back. The owner told me to use Round Up and that Round Up got a bad wrap and was basically harmless. I am a chemist and know better. It has left an extremely bad taste. I am having knee replacement surgery in a week ."
