In about 2-3 hours, Jeremy (with the assistance of a colleague he called in once it was clear there was more work to do), made the following repairs for $1,154: 1) repaired defective GFCI; 2) repaired two sets of spliced wires and added two junction boxes; 3) repaired plastic couplings at the connections between the electric utility wire and the house main wire; 4) added connectors to all unsecured wiring in my electrical panel and labeled breakers; 5) and identified and repaired a "double-tap" wiring situation in my kitchen. Furthermore, Jeremy suggested a more cost-effective way to fix my dryer situation: recording (~$150) vs. changing the outlet (~$600). Luckily, once my dryer arrived it turned out it was three-prong and thus fit the old-style outlet so I didn't need to do either. But I still appreciated his honesty about my options. I would definitely call TE Certified Electricians again — particularly since they sent me a "5% off for life" coupon after this service."
