"Brilliantly. Eric replied to my initial inquiry promptly; he checked in every day to confirm date and time; he drove perilously icy roads and bad weather to get to the location; he made the pick-up and hauling effortless; he brought the table into the house and moved a table already there to a different room. No one else, locally, seems to do these small hauling jobs. Strongly recommended."

"They were late (but did call) they did not bring the tools promised and borrowed mine. Also they had their girlfriend in the car. They just loaded the truck. We thought we were hiring professional movers but they offered no suggestions and we felt anyone could have done what they did. We paid we thought for professional movers. Just found out this morning that my grandfather clock needs a total repair. It was not moved correctly - the "professional" movers just belted it to the side of the truck instead of removing the mechanism (as required) and now it will cost hundreds of dollars to be repaired. No, I will never recommend this company."

"They are part of Allied. They picked up the furniture in May and delivered it in July when I found a place. I haven't had time to go thru my things.

Courtesy an A. They were very polite, never rude. However, they knew I was desperate and they increased the price between the time they picked it up and delivered it. I consider when the representative, Mike, would not give me the break down of things on the phone, and I had to force him to give me the breakdown of things. I haven't been able to go back in and call them into question on some of the charges. I thought it was more like let's see what we can get, there is no standard cost on what they charge people."

FAQs for waste, junk, building materials and debris removal and hauling projects in Curtis, MI

To throw out stained, broken, or infested mattresses or couches, call a junk hauler or take it to your local landfill yourself. If it’s infested with pests, you might want to call a pest control specialist near you. If you have infested furniture, there's a good chance you have an infested home, too.

Tipping furniture removal services is not mandatory, but it is a thoughtful way to acknowledge their hard work and professionalism. If you're pleased with the service, consider tipping junk haulers 5% to 10% of the total cost or $10 to $20 per worker. This is especially appreciated when the job involves heavy lifting, navigating stairs, or handling bulky items. Tipping not only rewards the workers for a job well done but also fosters a positive working relationship.

If your furniture is in good condition, you have a few options:

 • Donate to charities: Organizations like Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and GreenDrop often accept furniture donations and may offer free pickup services.

 • List online: You can list your items for free on local online marketplaces or community groups to find someone who needs them. Giving away your furniture not only helps you clear space but also benefits others in your community.

The cost to haul away junk depends on the haul’s size. A single item costs $60 to $150 to haul, with each additional item adding $20 to $40 to the total price. Hauling away a full truckload of trash or other junk will run $400 to $800.

Yes, some furniture retailers will haul away your old furniture when they deliver your new items. This service may be included in your purchase price or offered at a discounted rate. It's important to check with the store to see if they provide furniture removal and whether there are any requirements, such as a minimum purchase. Utilizing this service can save you time and effort in disposing of your old furniture.

In many cases, you can dispose of furniture in a dumpster, but regulations vary by location. Some areas prohibit items like mattresses or upholstered furniture due to environmental concerns. It's best to check with your local waste management authorities or dumpster rental company to understand what's allowed.
