Customers say: Quick response

"Eric was great! We had a handful of unfinished projects that needed to be addressed (vinyl plank flooring and trim among a few other odd tasks.) Eric quoted a fair price and knocked out the work quickly and with attention to detail. I would definitely hire him again and would highly recommend him."

I offer more than just repair services to your home. I offer peace of mind. If and when you hire me, you hire with the confidence that you will be treated honestly and fairly. I don't take on jobs that I have no business doing. I treat my customers with the respect that they're owed. I show up when I say I'm going to and I follow through with my commitments. I keep a meticulously clean work area and I'm willing to work around any needs of my customers. My passion is working on people's homes. I know it means a lot and it takes a lot to invite someone you don't know into your home. It takes even more to offer them your hard earned money in hopes that they respect your home the way it should be respected. My goal for every project is to give my customers the best contractor experience they've ever had. Your home is sacred to you, which makes it sacred to me. Every project I take part in is more than just a job. It's a relationship and an experience. With me, your home is in good hands.

"The service was excellent! They arrived to pick up the vehicle a day earlier which was great. They delivered the vehicle right to my daughter's door and found a side street to unload. The service was delivered within the time frame given. All of my questions were answered via phone or email and the paperwork was seamless and the price was very reasonable."

"I was truly excited about this job. They were the 10th estimate I'd received. During the sales and consultation, they were punctual, thorough, and honest. They advertise they provide a lifetime warranty on workmanship. This was the easiest purchase of a product ever. They advertise what stress free remodeling looks like. This was the most stressful work I've ever had done on my home. Two company signs were installed in my yard. One sign was the company sign. The other sign was a set of rules for their employees. Some of the rules were no loud music, no smoking, no eating, no swearing, and be respectful. Windows and sliding door Installation The beginning of the installation was problematic. The cedar wood around the windows was supposed to be removed, windows installed, and cedar wood re-installed except where rotted. No one told the window installers this information. One window was ordered incorrectly but that was rectified as soon as possible. The window installers could speak English. Garage Door Installation The garage door installer couldn't speak English. The siding was supposed to be completed prior to the garage door install and since it wasn't the garage door installer wasn't going to do it. I called the Project manager and he got him to install the garage door. The door broke that day or the very next day and it wouldn't close leaving my home exposed. I had to contact the Project Manager. I did think it was pretty darn cool that he left the comforts of his home immediately and got the garage door to close. The garage door company returned to fix it so it would close properly all the time. Siding Installation; This was the worst job ever. The first siding crew didn't speak English. The left their lunch trash on the ground - instead of putting it in the dumpster. They left cigarette butts on the ground. This helped me understand the sign and their violation of the company rules. They blew the power twice and broke the outside electrical outlet. They also broke an outside light. Their power tools were spliced with an orange electrical cord to the power plug installed on the electrical tool. I guess they didn't want to plug their tool into the extension cord all the time so they spliced them together. I had some wood rot that needed to be replaced before the siding was installed. The replacement wood was in the contract that I was charged for. The siding guys were not going to replace it until I notified the Project Manager it was in the contract. The first siding crew installed the siding in such a horrible fashion that it look liked I did it myself. There were a lot of buckles in the siding and there were significant wrinkles in the capping. The Project Manager's boss had the nerve to tell me it was because my home was buckled, which it was not. They also wasted a lot of material that I paid for. For example, if 6' of siding was needed from the 12' piece of siding, this crew would not cut from the very end and have the remaining 6' to use. This crew would cut in the middle. The project manager even dug some useful material out of the dumpster. I waited for almost 2 weeks for the electrical outlet outside to get fixed and after it wasn't fixed, I called an Electrician that fixed it. I requested a different crew because it was just way too much stress and they were not respecting my home. The second siding crew immediately recognized what the issues were, fixed those as best they could, and completed the remainder of the siding installation. There are still some buckles in the siding. of course I was provided an unsatisfactory answer regarding the buckles that are visible as one drives by. The Project Manager's boss said the buckles were because my home was buckled before they started. I was actually offended by that response. My home wasn't buckled before and even if it was, I guess the crew wasn't professional enough to compensate for it. For every defect I point out, the excuse was "your home is defective". I would give the purchasing of a product an A+. I give the windows installation an A+. I give the garage door installation an F. The first siding crew has an F. The second siding crew has an A+. These things together on average, in my estimation, is an overall C- or D+. I give a C since there is no C- or D+. I'm glad the project is over. It started on March 14, 2017 and ended on May 2, 2017. I'm not sure if I would hire this company again, so I put no. This was such a nightmare, I'm not even sure if they will honor the lifetime warranty on workmanship."

"I highly recommend Up Against The Wall. Don does amazing work! I would never use anyone else again. No gaps, no cracks, no uneven strips... just perfectly immaculate! Before finding Don, I had two separate “experts” do wallpaper for me, and both jobs ended up having to be completely taken down, as the wallpaper shrunk afterwards and left gaps between each strip. I was able to get some of my money back from the jobs, but the wallpaper they used was ruined and I had to buy all new paper. This was a big expense. Never hire a general contractor or painter to do wallpaper— it takes a specialist. And even a specialist is often not that. Go with Don and only with Don! Don even did a perfect job on our ceiling, a seemingly impossible task he made look easy. He also did a perfect job on our walls, which included going around doorways, and around odd corners and within tight spaces. It’s been six months and there are no gaps whatsoever. Don is not only very detail-oriented, but he’s also very neat. You won’t be left with any mess at all— no wallpaper goop laying around or anything like that. He has all his own tools and is an expert in all types of wallpaper. He came out, measured, and told me exactly how much wallpaper I needed (my previous hires were both wrong), and he was spot on. He also places the wallpaper perfectly, knowing exactly how and where to center the best areas of your specific wallpaper to make it look its best (he will discuss this with you beforehand). He’s a pro in every area, including rounding corners, to make sure your wallpaper won’t eventually come apart at the corners. You won’t regret using Up Against The Wall. It’s how wallpaper is meant to be, and your home will look like a page from an elegant magazine. Every time someone new comes to our home, the first thing they notice is the wallpaper, and everyone gasps over how beautiful it looks! *He also removed previous wallpaper and sanded and prepped our walls. Great work!"
