"We were looking for carpet for 3 rooms and had gone to a couple of the big stores but no one seemed interested in helping.  We drove by Floors Galore by Halfon and decided to stop.  We were impressed as soon as we walked in.  They have so much to choose from.  They answered all of our questions and took the time to explain the difference in the carpets.   We ended up with better carpet at a lower price.  The installation was super as well.  The guys were very professional, did a amazing job and when they were done they cleaned up!  I would highly recommend Floors Galore by Halfon and will definitely use them for our next project.

"The first day they showed up without the tile, because when they went to the warehouse it was not ready. Not that big of a deal because part of the project was to move the laminate wood flooring from our kitchen/dinning room to the study. It still bugged me that we gave them a three week period between contract signing and start date, how long does it take to make sure the tile is ready the day you start the job. They quickly removed the laminate, removed the carpet in the study and installed the laminate in the study, very fast and looked good in the study. two of them broke off to get the tile and returned with Crossville Tile, unfortunately it was the wrong Tile. We talked to Shawn and he agreed it was the wrong tile. Two of the three workers left to get the correct tile. They left one worker who continued to remove carpet and prep the floor for installation. The two workers never showed back up as by the time they got the tile it was very late in the day. The remaining worker informed us and departed for the day. Day 2 and the workers laid tile in the kitchen, dining room and hallway, leaving only the living room to tile. Toward the end of day 2 the lead worker asked us to pick out the grout, which we did. He then started explaining how they add water to the grout unless we paid for it to be sealed, in which case they would use lacquer (please note we were ripping out our carpets because we have a dog that is naughty sometimes while we are gone). We quickly informed him we had the sealant, because I remembered specifically asking Shawn the question and he ensured us it would be sealed. Day 3 arrives and they finish laying the tile. I was not home, but apparently the lead worker informed my wife that we did not pay for sealant according to the paperwork and the owner (forget his name). My wife called me at work and I called the store, luckily Shaun answered and when I inquired he informed me I had indeed paid for the sealant, but apparently was not on the paperwork which is where the confusion came with what the owner told the worker. Long story short they used sealant (verified by wife and myself upon returning home from work) in the grout, for future customers check the paperwork before signing to avoid any confusion. End of day 3 the workers had completed the tile job and grout. All that was left was touchup like adding molding seeming the carpet left in the bedrooms to the tile, furniture moving. Day 4 they worked until around 1030-1100am. A couple things about the last day. Apparently the way they cut or pulled back the carpet in the bedroom caused them not to be able to make a good transition between carpet and tile, so they added an unpainted piece of wood as a divider (looks out of place if you ask me). The other two bedrooms there is no divider. Clean up was not the best either as we found a few places where grout had hardened onto the tile floor. They left a huge piece of plastic in the backyard that they had used to wrap up the dishwasher they placed outside on day 1. My wife said they seemed rushed and the lead man informed them they had another job to get to. To be fair my wife was also in a hurry to pick up our dogs which we had boarded during the project They projected 4 days for the job and even with the delay because of the Tile they completed in 3.5 days. The other thing that happened (Can't blame FlooritToday) during the moving and shifting of the refrigerator the fan impeller came off and was running without cooling (I just had to buy a new fridge) to the condenser/compressor. So a word of advice to people with Whirlpool fridges be very careful when moving them about because apparently the fan impeller is just pushed onto the rod. Also the tile sample in the store was not truly indicative of the tile. We were originally matching the laminate flooring in our kitchen/dining room so we were looking for a yellow tint. The tile in the store had no gray at all in it, but the tile actually is very diverse in color with quite a bit of light-medium gray throughout the different boxes of tile. We have noticed a couple holes in the grout (which the lead man told my wife if we see them to call the office and setup an appointment, but we have been very busy dealing with the fridge). Overall my wife is extremely happy with look of the tile. I will use them again when my wife decides to change out the carpet in the bedrooms."

"Best carpet cleaner out there!! I've used many and unfortunately had some bad experiences from scams to price gouging to just plain laziness. I was so relieved when I found Justin Thornton. Justin is extremely professional and obviously dedicated to customer satisfaction. With very reasonable pricing, they are the first truly honest carpet cleaner I've ever known. The company prides themselves on policies unusual to the industry such as a confirmation phone call the evening prior to your service. They actually want their customers to be happy with the service and encourage you to call them to come back out if not. I've never needed to though because the job has always been meticulously executed the first time around. I've used Thornton Family Cleaning on multiple occasions and it is always a pleasure! You will not be disappointed."

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Deer Park, TX

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
