They have helped me with multiple projects (major demolition, landscaping, patio renovation, yard work, fence installation) and I am always impressed and very happy with the value and quality of work. Can't say enough good stuff about these guys."

"Daniel and his team worked around my schedule to find time for my small demo project. They arrived on time, and completed the project in the time frame that Daniel estimated. Their demo work was done with care, and they cleaned up after the project was completed. Wonderful experience and I would use them again if needed."

Small jobs welcome

"Filipe offered us a fair price, was available to do the work almost immediately, arrived right on time, did the work (hauling away old cedar fence materials I had demoed myself) quickly and completely. He and his helper (both wearing masks) were very personable. A true pleasure. Iâ d hire them again in a heartbeat."

"I had an original two story chimney that I needed removed. Zach and his crew demolished it and made the needed repairs all at a very competitive price. In addition they were able to perform additional needed demolition, streamlining the entire process. I'll be working with Gagne for many of my future renovations!"

"I originally hired Emilio to remove popcorn ceiling ,re-texture and paint. I was really impressed with the work they performed. In fact, because of the great job they did, I had them install new doors for and and also re-texture one of my bathrooms. The price was reasonable, they were always on time, they kept me updated on where they were with each project. I plan on hiring them again to do more work in my home."

"I asked Brian & Co. to remove and haul away a rotting breezeway between the house and garage. They got the demolition done in one day and the next, came back to restore fascia and soffits where the breezeway had connected. They matched the paint and hung the gutters and when they were done you would never have known the breezeway was ever there. Top-notch work, on time, right on budget, and they even left the dumpster a couple of days for my interior workmen to dump their debris as well. Communication throughout the process was terrific and they left the job spotless. I'd give them six stars if I could!"

FAQs for demolition projects in Denver, CO

A complete chimney demolition takes close to five days with a two-person crew; removing only the stack can be completed in half a day. Pros take the structure down brick by brick, add temporary supports if needed, and haul away debris before they leave. Their step-by-step approach safeguards nearby walls and the roof while keeping dust and hazards in check.

Most municipalities require a permit before any part of the chimney comes down. Check with your local building department for the exact fees and paperwork, and confirm any HOA rules that may be applicable. Your structural engineer or chimney professional can obtain the permit on your behalf and ensure that every step complies with local safety and zoning codes.

You can close up your chimney instead of demolishing it. This process involves sealing the damper, installing a chimney cap, and closing the fireplace opening with a secure barrier such as bricks or a door. Closing the chimney maintains the structure while preventing airflow, moisture, and debris entry. This method reduces demolition costs and complies with building code requirements when complete removal is not necessary.

Removing a chimney and switching to modern, eco-friendly alternatives enhances your property’s appeal through increased energy efficiency and potential LEED certification. However, many buyers insist on an operational fireplace, and as a result, removal can reduce overall home value by $5,000. Homeowners should assess market expectations and consult experts to ensure that any changes align with their long-term property goals.

It’s crucial to determine if your chimney is load-bearing before starting removal. Modern homes feature chimneys that are independent of the building’s structure, whereas older homes rely on chimneys for support of critical systems. Review your blueprints or consult a qualified structural engineer to confirm if additional support is necessary. This step ensures safe removal and sound planning.
