"I was looking for someone to aerate a small (1700 sg ft) lawn. It can be a challange to find a company willing to do a small job like this but N FL surprised me. The sales rep was friendly and showed up on time and offered a reasonable rate. The techs came a week later to aerate and were professional and knowledgeable. They did a great job. It was a pleasure to deal with everyone at this company. Big difference from the other large corporate lawn companies I've tried in the past. These folks are passionate and knowledgeable about lawns."

"Brian and his crew are very hard workers, and they did exactly what we asked and more.  They treated the soil for several weeks before replacing the area with new sod.  We hired him initially for one large job and then added several other small jobs and we will continue to hire him as needed.  They are very knowledgeable in the work that was performed.  Brian has excellent recommendations on maintaining the lawn and he has checked in on the new sod during the coldest weeks to ensure the stability he promised.

"Bill is a professional, very knowledgable, a military veteran and an awesome person. My pest control company recommended Turf Restorations for my annual aeration so I gave Bill a ring and gave him my home address and within 2 weeks he sent me a text saying he is available in a day or so. Mind you he is really busy aerating 50+ lawns so two weeks is an ideal timeframe during the spring season. Bill came out and flagged my ATT fiber optic cable while the week prior I flagged my irrigation sprinklers and did what he does best. Very knowledgeable person and I learned something new about my lawn from him. I will be using Turf Restorations in the future."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Doctors-inlet, FL

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
