"This job was done on two sites. The first site involved the removal of a large, 2-trunk oak tree that grew through a hole cut in our deck, and was done in Fall, 2018. This was a tight job, and was turned down by other tree services who couldn't get their equipment to the site. James with Kalamazoo Tree Service did the job by climbing the tree and removing branches and sections individually. All debris was removed, and the stump was cut down sufficiently far to allow for supports to replace decking over the stump. The crew showed up on time and did a great job cutting the sections to the size that could be hauled away and leaving the job site neat and clean. There was an incident where my neighbor's deck was damaged during the removal, and James was there the next day to completely repair the damage to my neighbor's satisfaction. This was excellent customer service and shows that this company takes responsibility for its work and actions. The bill for this major tree removal job (which took 2 days) was $3400. The second job was done in a half-day, and involved removing two cherry trees and pruning several oak trees. It was done in February, 2019. The crew was on time again, and got the job done quickly. There were several times when James would stop to ask me about the degree of pruning to be done on a particular tree, to make sure that the job was acceptable to me. Clean-up was thorough (even on the snow), and all debris was hauled away. The bill for this job was $900. It was a pleasure to hire Kalamazoo Tree Service for these jobs. Their price was competitive; even less than other quotes I had received. James did not commit to a service date until he was sure he could do the job on that date; this meant that weather could have made a difference up to the proposed date of service. I appreciate his forthrightness in setting expectations for the service date. He also would not prune our oak trees until winter had really set in, to ensure that no insect-borne diseases could infect the trees following pruning. The attention to detail and the quality of work are the main reasons that I would hire Kalamazoo Tree Service again."
