"Victor did an excellent job cleaning my dryer vents. He also cleaned behind the dryer itself which is very important! A lot of lint had accumulated over the last couple of years and he cleaned it till the inside of the vent piping looked silver and new. He cleaned it from the back of the dryer, the front of the dryer, all the way out to the exterior opening for the vent. He was on time, and he was efficient in completing the job. Some areas of the carpet were especially worn and soiled, such as a path from family room to kitchen. After cleaning, this area looked just like the rest of the clean carpet-- no soiled or dark area. I think the key to Mr Garci's work is " care." He took a great deal of care cleaning the chairs and the carpet. I also appreciated Mr. Garcia's willingness to discuss and explain various parts of the cleaning process. "I purchased the Angie's List deal for having our whole house air ducts cleaned and sanitized for $199. Our vents were very dirty having undergone two major house renovations. Because of how our vents are set up, our technician Val told us that they would be very hard to clean (we living in a 1959 rambler) and we might require multiple cleanings. As they were working, the weren't aware of the amount of dust that was being scattered throughout the house, again, due to the setup of our venting system. After he left, I needed to go throughout the house and clean the thing layer of dust that had settled on all surfaces. Val felt awful and apologized multiple times and you could tell that he was being sincere. He did recommend that we use an anti-bacteria and fumigation treatment because of mold he found in the vents (which he showed us pictures of) and had recommended purchasing a UV lamp to stop the growth of mold in the future. We opted to forgo the UV lamp, but purchase the additional cleaning options, which should have cost $275. It was clear that Val felt bad about the dust in the house because after we agreed to the additional cleaning, he dropped the price to $175 and also cleaned our dryer vent for free."

"We hired Sixpenny because we needed an urgent cleaning done on our newly purchased house after burning one fire and they said they could be at our house within 2 days, but only provided a 4 hour time window (12pm-4pm), requiring me to take the day off of work and stay home. The day comes with gusty winds which slowed down all of their appointments that day. This would not have been a major problem in itself if the company communicated that to me proactively, but by 3pm I called to confirm we were still on the list to be cleaned. By 4pm I called and was informed that the cleaner was on his way, at 4:30 I called again was told he was still on his way but no known estimated arrival time. Finally arrived shortly after 5pm, rushed through the cleaning as quick as he could, wasn't really able to answer any questions about how to reduce the fireplace smell in the house, from the concrete slab or from the hardwood floors and left in less than an hour. I understand he had a long day and was slowed by the weather, but the lack of proactive communication to keep us in the loop, as well as the limited knowledge either possessed or shared, is why I rated this company lower."
