"My daughter lives in South Charleston, we are from Williamstown, about 85 miles away, I was not sure who to contact when she had a 25 to 30 foot tall Bradford Pear Tree, that had an 8 inch thick limb, break off. The main branch had several similar branches and was about 15 feet long. They had broken off, but this was a VERY small portion of the tree. I worked with my daughter and we cleaned it up. It took us an hour or so to get it all cut up and removed. I knew it was only a matter of time, even though the limb was not rotten, for the rest of the tree to start breaking off, the tree was about 25 years old. My daughter went on vacation, there was a storm and several smaller branches (about 5 to 6 inches thick and 15 to 20 feet long) came down. We started getting estimates to have the tree removed. We got lucky there was more storms due the next couple of days, and Chris and Joe had an opening and gave us a fantastic estimate. They stared at 1130 and had the tree down and cleaned up before 5. She had chain link fencing and a porch, there was also a power cable that went through the tree top. They got the tree down quickly, efficiently, and were able to do it without damaging anything. I am going to hire Chris to come back and remove the stump. I was very happy with his work, the estimate and the customer service, he made us feel very comfortable about their experience and abilities. Joe has been doing this kind of work for over 30 years and Chris has over 8 years of experience. I would suggest that you do yourself a favor and give them a chance, I do not think you will be disappointed in the least."

I am a young business owner and brand new father! I have worked all over the construction industry from a young age and became a licensed plumber before I finished highschool. The name “One man” Freelancing was inspired by my service in the WV national guard where I still currently serve as the “one man” a term given to the cannon crewmember who loads and fires the artillery cannons. I have a broad range of knowledge and problem solving skills, if I don’t know how to do the job I will surely be able to learn and you will not be disappointed with results!

"Rick and his crew arrived as expected. They first took down the large pine tree and turned it into mulch. I couldn't believe how quickly they were able to do this. The next thing they tackled was the enormous shrubs that lined our backyard. Again, they took them out and mulched them up. Finally, Rick scaled each of the three large trees in the backyard cleaning off the vines and cutting off unnecessary or dead branches. Before they left, they raked and cleaned up the yard. I look forward to them coming back in the fall to prune and shape my apple tree."

"I highly recommend these guys! They did an amazing job at our house. We had trees hanging over our house and over our pool they removed them and not one tree branch landed on our anything but the place intended it to land. It all turned out better than I could have ever hoped for! And if you can believe it there wasn't even more than a handful of leaves that ended up in the pool ? My kids were swimming in the pool that evening."

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in East Bank, WV

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
