"My basement has remained untouched from the previous homeowners. Outside of coming down to do laundry (which I dreaded because of the condition of the basement) this area has been a throw away space. The bathroom, although functional was pretty nasty so it has never been used since we purchased the house two years ago. I figured it was time to make use of this wasted space and do a complete overhaul. Having had a great experience with Roman, Ivan and the team the first time I used them, I decided to give them the job. As with the first job, they came to walk the space and we discussed the details of what I was looking for, what was possible, timing, etc. After about a day or two, I received an email with the official quote that itemized the cost of each portion of the project (labor and materials). I thought the quote was fair and we agreed on a date to start the project. Like the professionals these guys are they showed up bright and early on the agreed day and every working day thereafter. The entire project included gutting the entire space with drywall, frames, flooring, tile, shower, toilet, etc. etc., re-framing and installing all new insulation, drywall, re-routing and installing electrical, building a new wall around the existing cast iron stair case with under stair storage, cutting and removing cast iron stair spindles and railings, closing space under stair treads (these guys are magicians), installing new fire proof drywall in mechanical/laundry area, completely new bathroom installation (shower, toilet, tiling new window, access panels for water shutoffs), new flooring, painting, recessed light installation, running wires for speaker system in ceiling, installing down-firing ceiling speakers, repairing outside breach in stucco, waterproofing gaps in basement entry and above grade. I'm sure I'm missing something, but you get the idea... For the sake of keeping this review under a novel I'll try my best to summarize the entire experience. Working with these guys it feels very much like a partnership. You can tell they care very much about the quality of their work and they will stay as long as they have to to get the job done right. Unlike some of my experience with other contractors who will patch things up to get the job done, or close walls around areas they know will present a long or short term problem; these guys don't work that way. I feel a lot of trust that they will always do what's in my best interest. They bring my attention to anything they foresee as a problem, even if it doesn't directly concern them. As an example, when demo-ing the bathroom they realized the sewer line for the original toilet was set too high, so they removed all the concrete and realized the workers who built the bathroom didn't want to touch the sewer line from the kitchen seeing it was probably on it's last leg, so they left it and decided to just install a new line over that one. These guys knew I probably had a very short amount of time left in those pipes, so they replace the entire section of that line (for no additional fee). This was a project that spanned a few weeks, so it's not easy to summarize the highlights, but all in all I'm very very satisfied with the result of the project. Everyone who has seen the finished product is very impressed and requesting their contact information for their projects. I've already let them know they have another large renovation project coming from me in the near future. The project went over what I initially wanted to spend when I first decided to do this, but it was well worth it."

"I wanted the thermostat for my central air conditioner replaced with a "smart" wifi thermostat that I had purchased. Also there were a few minor things I wanted done as well. The existing thermostat only ran on AA batteries and there was no power wire to connect to the thermostat where the thermostat that was to be installed. John went up in the attic where the air conditioner was and re-did the wiring there so that a power wire was available at the thermostat location. He and his assistant then replaced a light switch in the kitchen and rewired a faulty light fixture in the basement. Everything went beautifully. I have used John several times and I am always impressed with his knowledge and the solutions he always comes up with. Truly a can do guy!"

"I had the good fortune of meeting Gregg from Firefly Landscape Lighting several weeks ago. He is a teacher who loves spending time outdoors when not at school. I had Kicher outdoor lights installed last year. From the first day, I had issues with lights being lighter and darker than each other and others going out completely. Gregg met me at exactly 7am as promised so I could leave for work on time. He was able to tell me within several minutes what was wrong with the system and what he needed to do to get it working. Gregg seemed very honest and knowledgeable and gave me what seemed to be a fair price for the work that needed to be done. I agreed to have him fix the system that day. I left for work and he called me several hours later that the system was fixed and it was. I am only sorry that I did not know Gregg at the beginning of the project so that he could have helped with design, fixture selection and installation. I am sure it would have come out much better."

"I hired this company to install lighting in my home and made it very clear that the color temperature needed to match the rest of the house at 3000K. Instead, they installed much cooler hospital style lighting (closer to 4000 to 5000K) that clashed with everything else. When I raised the issue, their solution was to suggest redoing all of the other lights in my home, which would obviously cost me more, rather than fixing the mistake they made. That is not professional and it shifts the responsibility onto the customer instead of owning the error. This is a high end home and I expected a higher level of expertise and attention to detail. Color temperature is basic knowledge for any lighting professional and getting it wrong shows a lack of care and follow through. If you are considering using this company, be aware that you may need to double check even the most fundamental details and be prepared for pushback if something is done incorrectly."

"Unfortunately the brand new fans (right out of the box) did not work properly. Kosta, the owner, then explained it was because the fans were only capable of operating at one speed, low. This was not the case as the fans had multiple speeds as we later found out when paying yet again, to have the fans properly installed. (Now they world on all five speeds.) Kosta did not do the work properly. In addition, the outside timer was also improperly installed rendering it useless. Worse, even though he didn't know how to set the timer he proceeded to install it anyway with a non-trivial charge. The only properly installed work was 2 electrical outlets. The cost for all the mistake and poorly done work was exorbitant -- and that was before the additional cost to hire someone to do the work correctly. Consumer beware."

"I agreed to replace 2 METAL sprinkler heads. I was billed for 3 PLASTIC heads. I contacted Pacific Lawn several times to correct the invoice and they insisted that I received 3 METAL heads whereas the invoice billed me for 3 PLASTIC. heads. I was not satisfied with their handling of the whole process."
