"We are sprucing up to sell. During the estimate Paul suggested just a flat picture window, saving us about $2000.00. Set up a day to install. They were on time and finished quicker than originally planned. Excellent work and thorough cleanup. They also fixed some vinyl siding. Now that the window is in, I actually like it better than the bay."

"I highly recommend Whittemore Home Improvement for installation of vinyl siding projects. Mark Whittemore in addition to being the company owner works with his crew on the actual installation. Mark inspected our home and provided an estimate quickly. He explained every aspect of what he would be providing and presented us with a brochure that his wife Darlene put together with his credentials, insurance and a detailed list of home projects in our area that we could look at to help us decide and Mark was very helpful in providing recommendations and we felt that his professionalism, eye for detail and desire to provide the customer a great installation was the reason we hired him.
We had other estimates with contractors and decided that Mark was the best to hire. We decided on the Certain Teed, cedar impressions vinyl siding and in addition we also decided to have the roofing replaced. Mark uses a sub contractor for the roof and they stripped two layers, and installed the new architectural shingles and ridge vent in one day. They did an excellent job.
Marks crew, John, Tom and Mark did an excellent job installing the siding. The preparation work is the most important part of the installation and they wrapped the house with Typar, taped all seams and paid special attention to flashing the entire house before they started applying the siding ensuring that the house would be weather proof. I also needed electrical work done since the cabling for the electric meter was old and the plastic shielding around the wires was cracked and since it needed to be temporarily pulled away from the house in order to install the new siding I decided for safety sake that it would be best to replace the cables and install them in new pvc conduit eliminating any water entering the electrical panel. Marks crew member Mark is also a licensed journeyman electrician and he did an excellent job replacing the electrical cables and he provided a new electrical meter box. This was a great relief to me now that I have a safe electrical service.
Mark and his crew also installed an Anderson sliding door to the deck and it looks great in addition to the new siding. The entire house looks brand new and unless you actually feel the siding up close you would think it to be real cedar siding from a distance.
My wife and I are very pleased with the entire project. Mark and his entire crew are pleasant to work with, professional and I highly recommend them for a very professional job.

"

"We recently purchased an older house (1968 vintage) near the coast in Falmouth MA that needed lots of work. The work went exceptionally well with Ginn Construction. Tom Ginn, the owner, was punctual, polite, and professional. He understood clearly the problems with my older house that I had just pruchased, provided the most reasonable quotes for all of the work, and not just part of the work need as other contractors did. He verified the window measurement before the order was placed. When they arrived, he rapidly replaced all the 25 double hung windows in the house with new trim boards on the inside and outside, new sills, and insulation. all within a few days. He removed all materials (old windows, doors, and trim boards), and cleaned the inside and outside of the house before completion. He did significant repair work on the outside trim and attic ventilation. He also coordinated his work with the painter and arranged the painting subcontractor after he finished the carpentry trim work for me, as part of the work and contract - basically one stop shopping. He demonstrated to me significant expertise with the wide range of work that I asked him to complete around the house. He explained to me growing up in Falmouth he worked with his dad before his retirement and learned general carpentry and how to replace windows and doors. He then spent time framing houses before starting his own company. He is a licensed contractor. Needless to say my new windows and house now look great thanks to Tom.
My mother lives nearby and I also arranged it for Tom to do some work on her house built in 1970. He replaced cedar siding on the wind-exposed side of her house, replaced most of the rotting downstairs windows with Anderson 400 Series windows, found some problem areas inside the window frames, and quickly cleaned them up. My mother is 86 and she said Tom and his workers were very respectful and professional with her; she felt comfortable with the workers in her house and they did the work quickly and expertly. Her house now looks great as well.
I shopped around for a contractor in Falmouth and was surprised at the huge range for prices obtained for the window replacements, as well as painting. I also found these other contractors were mostly one dimensional and could not take care of the range of problems I had and would not touch the small problems. The big boys like Home Depot or other national chains were much higher priced and provided an inferior product...also just did the windows. I went to Falmouth Lumber, had a good experience there, purchased the windows, doors and trim boards myself (no added charges by the contractor), and Tom Ginn took care of the rest. He arranged delivery from Falmouth Lumber. He worked well with their salesman and has a strong relationship with Falmouth Lumber. He came highly recommended by them. Importantly to me, there were no added costs as the work proceeded; Tom stuck to his quote on each item and on one item he even reduced his quote because the work he thought might be needed was not. I found that refreshing, a contractor who was very honest and charged a fair price for the work he completed.
I would recommend Ginn Construction and Tom to anyone doing window or door replacements and other carpentry repairs. Tom and his workers will do the work well. Tom does most of the work himself and has a great deal of expertise and pride in his work.
"
