Family-owned and operated since 1991. Specialized expertise in the eradication of unwanted and invasive plants and vegetation. Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator License #26928. Web site: www.cooperspoisonivy.com
"Amazing! Lee is a pleasure to work with and is super diligent about his efforts. He took hours to walk our yard and woods to find and treat all poison ivy on the ground and in the trees (we have a big property and had a lot). Lee found it all and then on his return trip to ensure all is eliminated he treated anything new or if he had missed any. We're happy to say its all gone now and we couldn't be happier. Thanks Lee for being diligent and being very careful about treating just the plants and vines so as not to harm anything else. Thanks so much!!!"

Chris Glynn began his career in 1972 working for local tree service firms. Gaining valuable experience over the next thirteen years, in the fall of 1985 Chris Glynn's Tree Experts was born. Applying professional business practices and providing customers with outstanding service quickly established the new company as the one to call to get things done right, on time and at the quoted price. The new business flourished and Chris' reputation as the "go to" guy for tree services solidified. As the business evolved, additional personnel were hired and groomed to apply the business practices that set the company apart from the competition. On average, each crew leader has over eighteen years of experience in tree work. This is evident when you see the professionalism of the crews when they tackle a difficult project. In August 1997, we completed construction of our new facility on Industrial Way. This included a brand new 3600 sq ft building, complete with a fully-tooled shop, employee locker room with showers, equipment service bays and an administration office. Recently, our entire lot was paved to keep our firewood processing, timber storage and parking areas free of dirt and our equipment clean. Equipment Fleet Our equipment fleet is continually upgraded to provide the specialized tools and automation necessary to efficiently perform our services. This is an important consideration when searching for firms that offer tree services. Without the right equipment, work can take longer and cost more. The old adage "a workmen is only as good as his tools" is a rule that we live by at Glynn Tree Experts. All of our firewood is processed using a special wood-processing machine to insure high quality. Our inventory of firewood is huge with over 500 cords of seasoned, hardwood in stock. We promise prompt delivery to your home or if you desire, you can pick up a small quantity at our facility on Saturday mornings. Having provided our services to over 12,000 customers over the last twenty three years has proven our reliability and professionalism and established our firm as the number one tree service firm on the South Shore. If you're searching for tree experts, you need not look any further.
"Their response was great! I had no luck with several other companies due to the fact that they were still trying to catch up from the powerful storms we had earlier in the year. Some did not even respond to my call even though I left my number. I asked the arborist for a referral and she gave me Chris Glynn's name. I found this company to be very responsive to my questions and they arrived when they said they would. I would not hesitate to recommend them to my family or friends."

You might remove a tree for free if it’s small, easy to reach, and your city doesn’t require a permit. Call the planning or public works office first to be sure. If they give you the green light, follow all safety rules, wear protective gear, and ask a friend to spot you. When in doubt—or if the tree is tall—hire a pro instead.
In many cities, you’ll need a permit—sometimes even an arborist’s report—before cutting down a tree. Start by calling your local building or planning department. They’ll tell you whether the tree is protected, how big it can be before a permit kicks in, and whether the work has to be done by a licensed pro. Get written approval before scheduling the job to stay on the right side of local rules.
It’s best to leave healthy trees alone—they add shade, boost curb appeal, and support wildlife. Take one down only if it’s dead, diseased beyond saving, or posing a real safety risk. Check local rules first; many areas protect heritage or street trees.
When removal seems necessary, bring in a licensed arborist for an on-site assessment and written recommendation before you book the crew.
If you’re torn between trimming, pruning, or full removal, start with an honest health check. Trim to shape the canopy or encourage new growth. Prune when you spot broken or diseased branches that could spread trouble.
Plan on removal only if the trunk is hollow, several major limbs are dead, storm damage is extensive, or the tree leans dangerously toward a structure.
A tree that’s 15 to 20 feet from your home isn’t automatically a problem. Healthy, small species often coexist just fine with houses. Trouble starts when the trunk shows decay, roots crack the foundation, or overhanging branches threaten the roof. Bring in a licensed arborist for a close look and written recommendation before you decide to remove or simply prune.
Timing hinges on size and complexity. A small tree might be gone in a few hours, a mid-sized one in half a day, and a giant could keep the crew busy for one to two full workdays. Add extra time if you’re grinding the stump, hauling wood, or navigating tight spaces near power lines or fences.
