"DJ from DC Roofing and Repair is a very professional upstanding person. He was very fast getting an estimate for us, and actually started our roof a few days later. He and his crew are highly skilled. The work was completed in an orderly fashion and the mess was completely cleaned up. If you need something done around your home that DC Roofing and Repair can help you with, you won't be disappointed. My husband and I highly recommend this company and crew, they are awesome!!!"

"They were nice and their salesperson was easy to work with; he was very knowledgeable. This salesperson used to own a company that made metal roofing so he was significantly more knowledgeable about metal roofs than any of the other companies we talked to. They were pretty great all around and their price was competitive."

"We had Balcon Roofing install a new asphalt shingle roof on our 1950’s era home. Jesus and his crew did a great job and the price was excellent. Jesus was very friendly and responsive. After a wind storm last year, we asked Jesus to come by and take a look at a couple of shingles that had blown up which he did quickly and for no charge. We decided to do the replacement this spring and we’re glad we hired Balcon. We also had them tear off the roof of an old carport which they did for a very low cost. Everything was hauled away and the cleanup was excellent. Highly recommend."

"Although I did not choose him to do our roof, I would highly recommend him to others and use him in the future. I was unable to choose him because the insurance adjuster only gave us enough money to cover our lowest estimate. A-1 was just a bit higher. Overall I had a good feeling about this company and will recommend A-1 to friends and family. <br />"

"SolTerra did an absolutely fabulous job and has been a pleasure to work with. :-) We initially contacted them over a year ago for an estimate so that we could plan for our installation, get a few estimates, and compare technologies. After doing exactly that, we reached back out to them to move forward with our installation; everything SolTerra had in their proposal (which had three energy options) reflected just what we were after: the latest Enphase micro-interters, 400W Solaria panels, Enphase control systems, LG batteries, and very good warranties. Throughout the entire process, Kevin was there to answer any questions that came up. Once we decided to move forward, SolTerra put us on the schedule and kept us updated on the tentative start date. We were initially looking at starting in June and actually started at the beginning of August - not bad given the disruptions of the pandemic. When the day arrived, so did SolTerra with 33 solar panels, mounting hardware, and various other system components. The installation of the mounting rails and panels happened at the same time as most of the electrical system installation - after 5 days the panels were installed and the majority of the battery system and Enphase control systems were installed as well. There were a couple delays due to a defective control board (which took a few weeks to obtain a replacement), but even while waiting for the replacement the SolTerra electrician and team finished up every part of the installation they could and scheduled the necessary inspections. By the beginning of September, we were all set and waiting for PSE to drop by to approve the installation and throw the switch to turn on the system. Throughout the installation, the electrician and crew were very communicative, keeping me updated on the progress they made each day and the timeline for inspections and any associated updates. I particularly appreciated the electrician's updates when the defective control board was discovered, and that he provided me with lots of details each day as he installed new components or made alterations. The end result was a beautiful system, from panel arrays to batteries to control systems and conduit - it was all very polished and showed professional engineering design and high-quality installation. After the system was operational, Kevin came to the house to provide a full walk-through of the system, components, and the related Enphase Enlighten app and its features. At the end of his visit, I had copies of all the plans, manuals, approvals, permits, and warranties, plus a complete understanding of my system and its indicators - I was one happy, informed customers. I was also really pleased that the SolTerra crew came right out when a small leak appeared from a vent that was jostled by the installation (the solar panel installation probably moved the old vent just a little bit). Kevin and Neil had a crew out the day after I contacted them and made certain that the vent and all nearby solar mount points were extra-sealed - the leak was completely resolved. I really, really appreciated their promptness and how they took the time to ensure there was no potential for leaks from the solar install - they stand by their products, crew, and customers completely. I would definitely recommend SolTerra to anybody considering a solar installation - they have a top-notch crew and use the best-in-class materials to provide a long-lasting, turn-key installation. I'll even be reaching out to them if we decide to expand out battery storage. :-)"

"Great. Noah was very responsive to our needs and did not spend all of his time doing I am the contractor and you are the mere homeowner and probably are stupid. He understood what I wanted and why I wanted something the way I did. Had a great crew that got our job done when they said they would and did a fantastic clean up."

"<p>This is the first time we have had a roof replaced and it could not have gone better.  Troy and his crew did a very good job.  The cost was exactly the same as the estimate.  The finished roof looks great.  They did a very thorough clean-up.  No plants, hedges or yard art were destroyed.  It was a very dirty job because the old roof was made of 40 year old cedar shakes.  All the dirt, debris, nails, staples, old shakes, everything was cleaned up and hauled away.  Since replacing a roof is a noisy job, Troy and his crew intentionally did not start before 7:00 AM so as not to disturb our neighbors.  The job took about 1 week.  We had a pleasant surprise; since I am a veteran, we received a $250 rebate for choosing shingles from GAF.  Troy is also a veteran.  Any company that supports veterans is a friend of mine.</p>"

"We recently had Central Guaranteed Roofing remove an old shake roof and replaced it with a high end Certainteed roof. Pedro and Melissa gave us competitive bids on several levels so that we could make the right color choice for our home. We live in a high wind location and we needed a product that would hold up and also enhance the architecture of our home. Pedro and Melissa were amazing to work. Honest, professional, not pushy and answered any questions promptly. The crew that did the removal and installation were clearly very experienced, professional, technically advanced and very polite. They rolled in with a large dump truck and materials that disappeared at the end of every day. The entire yard was scoured at the end of each and every day. Amazing for a roofing project! Our project entailed a complex roof with skylights, three levels, many hip and valley transitions and needed all new vents. The roof lines and the layout were precise with the end result truly stunning! I was so surprised that it made our home look brand new with an elegant look. Nicely done Central Guaranteed Roofing! Your product and crew are something to be proud of. We are grateful to have had a company like yours help us with this project."

"It went very well.  First we met with the District Sales Manager, who covers both Oregon and Washington to discuss the project.  He explained the product and answered our questions and comments about the roof and provided a estimate.  The roofing material is an interlocking T-felon impregnated coated aluminum shingle.  It is an expensive material but since it has a lifetime warranty and  high ratings for wind and hail, we thought that the price was acceptable.  We accepted the estimate and set an approximate start date. <br /> Very close to the approximated start date, the materials were ready for delivery and the installation date was confirmed.  The installers arrived on the confirmed date and time.  They were very professional and diligent about their work.  They cleaned up at the end of each day. They were also very open about any questions, comments or concerns that we had.  They were as concerned as we were about a quality job done right.  It was a big job and it was estimated to take about a week.  They completed on schedule. <br /> Everyone we spoke to or worked with on this project made sure that they kept in contact with us and that we were happy with the end product. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Ellensburg, WA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
