"When we had the house inspected there were some problems found. Misaligned tiles, small holes, etc. <br /> Jim examined the roof and sent someone out the next day for repairs. Jim came back and examined the work and was not pleased. He had the same person out a second time. When he returned all the work had still not been completed to his satisfaction so he finished it himself. <br /> While I am satisfied with the work done I feel he should find someone whao can do the work right the first time. <br />"

"How lucky am I that a neighbor referred Axiom Construction to me after my house flooded while I was out of town. I have been dealing with more than ten different agencies to get my house put back together and all have failed miserably. Except one. Axiom. They have been the all star in this whole process. As an engineer and designer myself, I expect high quality and attention to detail. During the remodel we have worked well together as a team. They listen to my wants and needs, and make smart, intelligent recommendations to ensure the final product is something I will be very happy with. They also expect high quality from their subcontractors which makes me happy. If there is an issue, they make the correction. They are not a discount contractor; you get what you pay for, which is high quality. Seriously, without Axiom as my partner on this remodel I would be much worse off. I have already recommended Axiom to several friends and they are also enjoying their construction process. I do feel very lucky to have Axiom on my side and in my corner."

"The process went very well, I waited for the company to do my work at my home about 2 months. It was worth it! When the boys showed up to do the work, they did it in 2 days and they did an awesome job, they cleaned very good and my roof looks great. Lisa provided me with a copy of their license and insurance certificates during the inspection so it was easy to decide to go with them once I did my homework. I know I made the right decision to hire A 1 All American Roofing. Thank you so much!"

"This guy is good! He knows what it takes to put a roof in good shape and, unlike most others, works on flat roof sections as well as sloping tile,so that he can guarantee the whole job. The guy takes pride in his work, adding cosmetic touches just because he likes it. He did extra work not covered in the proposal. His price was half that of others. If you don't hire him, you probably got half the job or paid twice too much. An unqualified recommendation. A price quote one day and a completed job one and a half days later."

"I had water? damage from a leaking bathroom skylight that had progressed over more than ten years. Family medical priorities resulted in foregoing repairs for too long, hence my homeowners insurance would not touch this. My wife's illnesses were severe enough that I could not consider getting the work done without further complicating her conditions. When my wife passed away in April, I made the decision to proceed with the necessary work before any further damage occurred. My son-in-law recommended Ute Construction, because he had personal good relations with them, and he assured me they were top notch professionals. I let them know that I was paying out-of-pocket for the work. Mr. Ed Mahoney of Ute Construction came by, looked it over and offered to work with me on restoring my bathroom and working with me on costs. Ute and their associated subs were extremely professional, and the work progressed in a timely manner, with a few small delays, which are expected anytime there involves subs and materials. I cannot overemphasize the professionalism and quality of work. All the workers were friendly, helpful and involved me in every step of the way. They did not cut corners on work quality or materials, but did streamline the costs for me, which is very much appreciated. I would recommend Ute Construction to anyone who wants quality work, a fair price, and results in a timely manner. I was very lucky that my son-in-law recommended Ute."

"Came out gave estimate and scheduled the service. After the repair was done the first time it rained again and they came back and repaired again (The guy said they repaired the wrong spot so he determined where the water was getting in and repaired that spot at no extra cost). they said they would send me before and after photos of both repairs. I am still waiting. It is now March and I have requested them more than twice. No response. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Enterprise, NV

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
