For my job, I was seeking a contractor that could perform all exterior and interior home refurbishing. After receiving a fair project quote from Manuel Féria, the owner of C&M, we quickly reached a firm fixed price (FP) contract for all materials and labor required to complete the job and agreed upon a one (1) week start date to commence the project. The project involved both exterior and interior phases. The exterior phase included: 1) the cleaning of all exterior walls, windows, and the roof and gutters, 2) carpentry repair work to replace all damaged wood and trim, 3) the rehanging of the gutters following trim replacement, 4) exterior repair of the chimney, 5) the painting of all exterior surfaces including the metal railings, and 6) the deck repair and final staining. The interior phase included: 1) the repair of drywall cracks, 2) the painting of walls, ceilings, and trim, and 3) the interior staining of newly installed windows. The refurbishing project was completed in two (2) weeks for the agreed upon fixed price. All work was performed by skilled professionals that arrived on time daily, completed their work and cleaned up at the end of each day for the interior phase. All exterior repairs were completed using quality materials done by expert carpenters. The interior and exterior painting was performed with true craftsmanship employing attention to details. I can honestly say that C&M outperformed my expectations for the entire project. The house is now refurbished inside and out and looks truly great, I would definitely recommend C&M to anyone needing home repairs/painting and plan to use them again for future work. "Kitchen and bathroom vanity painting: Sr. Martinez spent over 2 days meticulously covering everything that wasn't supposed to be painted with paper and/or plastic. I had other estimates that said they would roll/brush the cabinets, but for $$$ extra they could spray them. Fernando sprayed them at a cost less than some brush/roll estimates I got. The cabinets were sanded, got two coats of oil primer, and then the next day two coats of the finish paint. They dried overnight and then the hardware was attached and the doors and drawers installed. He even came out on Saturday and Sunday to complete the job. I highly recommend!"

"Amazing! We had used Curtis before for painting projects but never for just caulking. He is just as gifted with a caulk gun as he is with a paint brush. He arrived right on time and after I gave him a tour of the house and what I wanted done, he went right to work. Every caulk bead was as even and as straight as I've ever seen. He really is gifted. Curtis even noticed a couple of areas that I had missed and he made some suggestions to get a better outcome ad he did it all for the already agreed upon price. Curtis is a very nice man and nice to have around while he works. He is easy to work with and works hard to make sure you're happy with his work- which is easy to do since he does such a great job anyway. He also cleans up after himself. I have never had to go behind him after he leaves to clean up. He has already done everything that needed to be done. We will be doing some painting work on the trim of our brick house this summer and we'll be calling Curtis to help us with that. If you have any questions about his specials give him a call. He always answers promptly and if he has to get back to you he is quick with the return call. It is great to have someone so dependable on the job."

"David was extremely responsive, professional, and an all-around gentleman throughout this multi-day project.... A very hard worker and a humble soul to match. Coming in at a competitive rate under two other quoted estimates, the money spent on this project was well worth it. On one of the final days of the project when he was supposed to come out and begin the last leg to finish up, I received a call from an extremely apologetic David, who had been admitted into the hospital with a severe malady ... He was so concerned about the project and his inability to be there that day to finish it up, that he felt compelled to call us from his hospital bed to let us know he would be delayed but that he WOULD be there to complete the job as soon as he was released and physically able to come out.... Within less than a week, he was back on his feet and we were his first call to come out and complete the job. I don't know anyone else that would have shown as much concern or gone to as great a length to keep us informed about such matters and its impact on a contracted drywall + paint job. Of course, we told him that our project could wait and that his well-being was far more important... When he came out, we were genuinely just so glad to see him doing so well. Would definitely recommend David for any type of work like this again! Good work and great guy!"

"Susan Gregg and her Team of 3 experienced painters showed up promptly at 8am and did a very good  job of painting 5 areas in our house during the day. They worked very efficiently ( one cut in and one was rolling the other painted and prepped as bneeded ) and quickly but at a  careful pace and were very professional. they took great care  to protect the floors and areas  by  placing drop cloths where ever they worked, and cleaned as they went . Susan did an initial  walk though at the beginning with my wife to make sure  she and her team understood  what we  wanted done and that there was no confusion (w e had 3 colors ) she left her team on site and she left to attend to other business  after making sure  they understood what we  wanted and we were in good hands . They worked at a good pace putting on 2 coats  and Susan would call back and check with  them and us throughout the day. After they finished their painting they walked through the areas doing an inspection with my wife and  touching up/ cleaning  up any minor areas making sure we were happy with everything. They cleaned up everything and left  their work area   very neat. These were professional painters and they worked very well as a team. Susan called us back shortly after they had left and did a  follow up to make we were happy with their work and if there was anything else we needed. (very good management )  Painting is never a fun thing to do in my opinion on a large scale but these folks made it as painless as possible and actually was a very nice experience . We will  be calling them again to do more work for us! Bottom line was great service and quality of work.

"Overall, I graded the job a C because the finished product is a C.

 The leader of the crew that did the work told me that I had purchased two men for 6-8 hours, and that he was contracted by Cobalt to perform the work, that he did not work for Cobalt.   There was not mention of 6-8 hours in the posting, and I was immediately feeling uncomfortable about what exactly I had purchased.  I bought a crew of "painters", not the support and oversight of a professional painting company.
We had scheduled the work a week in advance, and the day of the job, there was rain in the forecast.  I suggested we re-schedule, but was told that he was booked for at least the next week, and that it was not raining now, and "why don't we get started."

In advance, I was told to get a gallon of paint, and a gallon of thinner.   I assumed the paint would be brushed or rolled.   Was not told that I would also need to provide masking suppliers and several gallons paint.  I did buy a few drop clothes, and had a few rolls of masking tape, but was not prepared for masking to spray.  So, let the painters use 6 mil poly to mask, and had a giant amount of trash in front of my house when done.  (Could have been neatly rolled up, but that would have taken extra time, and was made worse because one of the painters lost his phone and thought it might be in side the plastic wrap).

The rain came about 1/3 of the way through the paining.  They came back the next day to finish, and "sort of" addressed water issues by repainting.  There was a serious hurry to get done and on to the next job, so there were a lot of missed spots.  There should have been two coats applied.  They came back a few weeks later to repaint the missed spots, and the job is complete.  The quality is okay, but well below the original paint job, and would definitely not impress anyone. The ironic part.. I had a quote to have the work done, for $50 less than the Angie's list deal.   I thought that I would get more for my 16 hours of work, but did not.  I did not like the pay before the work is done and hope it gets done right."
