"Words can't express how happy we have been with our decision to go with Trickett Woodworks to build and install the cabinets in our custom kitchen. Geoff and Brian have been exceptional! Their communication before and during the project was always great. We had to delay the selection of our cabinet maker due to COVID, and Geoff was the only person that had regular check-ins with us during this time, none of the companies reached out to us at all. Trickett's workmanship is top notch. We asked for a very custom design that followed the contour of our cathedral ceiling which is not common. Geoff worked with us to come up with ideas on how best to accomplish the look we were going for and it turned out amazing. Geoff and Brian also went the extra mile when our countertop installers damaged several drawers and doors. Geoff made sure everything got fixed and that we were taken care of. I can't understate how happy we are with our cabinets and our experience with Trickett. We'll definitely be using them for future projects and highly recommend them to anyone."

"Jeramie Booker is extremely professional and ethical. Most recently he replaced hinges on our kitchen cabinet doors and extended a fence in our backyard. He has completed many projects for us over the years and we have been pleased with the quality of his work. He’s dependable and fair."

"Dan came in and gave us a   quote.  I called to schedule.  At the appointed time, Bob came over and took out the cabinet doors to go to the shop for lacquer, then he began cleaning and priming.  bob was careful to make sure that he had the door numbered, including the hardware, so that it could be put back together.  I bought some hinges to match our appliances, but they didn't quite fit and John took my old hinges and painted them the color that I needed.  Throughout they were on time, professional and worked very cleanly.  These guys are VERY VERY good.  Came in on time and on budget.  Great experience.            <br />"

"We use them anytime we need anything done and he’s working on our doors right now. We’re quite happy with their work. He did our library last 2011 since then he have done my kitchen which is absolutely fabulous and right now he is working on the interior and exterior doors of my house. We continued to use them and he’s an artist as far as we’re concern. The last time we used them he built it to our desire specs as far as the arts and crafts look. He used an exotic wood that we have never heard of before and it was unbelievable. We were amazed when he installed it. The cabinets are all hard wood and he does things with the drawers that make them closed themselves which are kind of interesting. He offers us suggestions and ideas that you wouldn't have thought of yourself and the artistry of the cabinet reef look horrible here and there that make it look like they’re supporting granites. The little stuffs that he makes make them unique."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Ethel, WA

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
