"When they did the edges, I didn’t want them to put the bricks there. I wanted them to put a trench to separate where the grass started and the flower bed. I asked them to do it because I wanted it to look more professional and not like something crazy I did that wasn’t straight. It looks very crooked like something I would have done. The front they did well. I told him and he came back out and let him off the hook. He acknowledgeable that he could have done a better job. They didn’t’ put the extensions on the down spout far enough. So now I need to re-dig and make them lower or add more top soil above. They didn’t do a professional job as I would have liked. They were supposed to spray and a couple of days later I noticed that none of the vegetation was dying. I called back and they acknowledge it and came back out. They were responsive.    I tried to use them again but they were not responsive."

"We found about Superior Landscaping on yelp and Angie's list. We wanted to get a patio done in the back of the house. We called three places and Superior landscape was one of them. Not only was their price very reasonable, but when Troy came he answered all our questions with a lot of patience. We would has very specific questions because we were worried about drainage issues, the durability of the patio Etc. He answered all our questions and made us feel really secure. We decided to go with them. They set a date and came promptly on time. About six to seven people came to put the patio and everybody worked together in unison to get the job done. One thing that really stood out that impressed me other than their workmanship was what they did with the dirt that they dug up. They took the dirt into the forest, but they didn't just dump it back there. Someone would be back there to take the dirt that gets dumped out and then even it out so it doesn't disturb the forest. This may not seem like a very big issue but it made me feel that wherever they work, they want to keep the area looking as undisturbed as possible. Very impressive. After the work was done we asked a few more questions to the foreman He answered the questions very easily and with a lot of confidence. I called Troy after the job was done and asked him a few more questions and he reassured us that everything is going to be great in regards to any drainage issues and durability. It was a very pleasant experience and the patio is really great."

"They were okay. The guys who actually climbed the trees, they knew what they were doing. The boss was there, he didn't really get it as well as the people who actually did the work so it was much better when the boss left. I think they did a good job. I would use them again but it's just that there are so many other people competing to do this, it's just like you have to turn people away all the time."

"Ask for Neal!! He's the most polite, honest, full of knowledge about pests I've ever come in contact with. I was having an issue with flies coming in my house. Because there was NO signs of decay in or around my house, Neal suggested some remedies (one worked) & told me that there wasn't much to be done. It was suggested I wait until the cold weather ended then I may be able to discover the cause of those nasty pest! Well, the cold weather finally ended as did the issue with the flies!! I really appreciated their honesty by not coming out and charging me for something they couldn't resolve!!"

Specifically, - We invited several companies to assess the project and Northern Virginia Landscaping were the best in terms of showing up when promised, thoroughly assessing the issue, and suggesting a plan for how to proceed. It’s amazing how many other companies missed key issues, came up with half-baked plans, or didn’t show up at all. - When we retained Northern Virginia Landscaping, Ibi, the owner, worked closely with us to come up with a design that was both practical and aesthetic. - Ibi was very open to negotiation, helping us prioritize different parts of the project and evaluate trade offs between costs of various parts of the design. He also specifically sought our input into the design through the process. By the end, we felt like the design was our own. - Once the design was finalized, Ibi was clear about when the work would begin and how long it would take. When heavy rains delayed his crew at another project, he was clear with us about what that meant for our start date. Overall, the communication and customer service were excellent and Ibi made himself fully available when we had questions. - Once the work began, it went very smoothly and largely according to plan. We knew exactly what would happen when and on the few occasions there were unanticipated decisions needing to be made, Ibi consulted us on our options and quickly incorporated our feedback into the work. - We did not necessarily seek out the lowest cost option, but the prices were very reasonable given the high quality product. Just as important, the pricing was very transparent and there were no “surprise” costs once the project began. The work was completed on time, on budget, and on spec. Ibi also did a final walk through with us to make sure we were satisfied and to answer our questions. Overall, we very very happy with Northern Virginia Landscaping. They seem like an energetic young company that wants to give their clients great work and customer service at a reasonable price."
