Custom metal fabrication, railings, gates and fences, steel stairs and iron furniture, shearing and forming, drilling, welding & threading.

"We live in a historic neighborhood and needed handrails installed on our front steps. We decided to use Pohl Iron Works after reading the wonderful reviews. The entire experience, from estimation to installation, was great (and our handrails are gorgeous!). I especially appreciated the time they took to discuss the design - they really listened and made excellent recommendations. We will definitely be calling again!"

United Structural Systems is a family-owned business specializing in foundation repair, wall realignment, and waterproofing systems. We are constantly researching new and innovative ways to service our customers. Additional phone numbers - (304) 346-7777, (513) 561-0300. Additional fax - (513) 561-030. Additional DBA - Perma Jack - United Structural Systems.

"My first encounter with United Structural Systems company ( USS) was last year, when I had to face the decision which company I go for foundation repair at my house in West Virginia. It was equal bids on my project from two companies USS and Alltek. Unfortunately for me, I made the decision to go with Alltek Environmental Services company at that time. Foundation repair was finished in August 2019 by Alltek (please read my review, that I placed separately for Alltek). 48,000 dollars payment later foundation been done. I finally be able to place my house for sale this year and come to realization, after inspection is done on the house, that it is a presence of water leak in the storage area. I could not believe, how it is possible, when the foundation repair was just done 8 months ago. I guess, things were not done properly after all. After numerous attempts to contact Alltek company, I finally be able to get the response with another promise to “fix it” in the amount of $9,200 or later for free…if I take off my review of their company from homeadvisor.com. Lack of professionalism, poor craftsmanship and PR was major disappointment for me. To be honest, after I been treating inferiorly by Alltek, I did not have any desire to go back to the same company. I was looking for second opinion how to resolve these issues. I decided to reach out again United Structural (who I was hoped to remember me from last year) and explain my dilemma. Bobby K. (Sales Manager for USS) come to the rescue! He was willing to give me his unbiased opinion on the situation. Bobby K, “commander in charge”, went to the house and informed me, that “downspout lines were never installed, the part on top of the ground went nowhere and tie back patch was poor quality”. Simply put it, Alltek did a mediocre job. I immediately made the decision go ahead and proceed with United Structural Systems company for repair of the mistakes. I cannot say enough praise for the USS company and manager Bobby K. This re-du project was done in timely matter, communication was superior ( needless to say I live out of state and it was never an issue), area after the job was clean up to perfection and…the garage/storage area now look dry bone and beautiful. Awhhhh... maybe I should not sell my house after all?! I have a buyer on the house, and I am closing in 2 weeks and can say with all honesty, I could not do that without United Structural help. It was exceedingly difficult situation for me, and it was resolved by USS company with flying colors. Thank you again USS. I recommend you without any hesitation!!! Your company should be proud of to provide such an excellent service and have knowledgeable, competent and skillful experts. Lana Y, Rochester, NY “We are NY tough”"

Hello there! We are a local company specializing in roofing, siding, deck's, privacy fences, exterior painting, and additions. We also bid on commercial projects upon as requested.

"I had my basement finished by Armando and his crew. The first red flag was the "proposal". It wasn't a typical quote. It had a low range and a high range, with no way of knowing exactly what the final cost would be (the high range estimate of $15-16k was actually wound up to be more than $25,000- HUGE difference!). Then, it took a full two months to finish due to promises like, "We'll be there tomorrow", or "We'll finish it up by New Years'", or "We'll be there this weekend", or it might have rained, the truck broke down, or any number of excuses, but rarely did I get a call saying, "We won't be there after all". I can't count the number of times I rearranged my day or weekend only to have no one show up at all. The customer service was horrendous. So was the spin-doctoring. So, was the work done well? Well, yes- despite the excuses, I'm thrilled with most of the work. It's the last thing that was the final straw. I had two barn doors installed between the mud room and the basement entertainment area. Love the doors, hate the way they were installed. The crew screwed two boards as a guide which looked horrible, and one of the (new) doors was warped toward the bottom and when they were closed, there was a significant gap between the two at the bottom. This was spin-doctored to me as my floor isn't level. That may be, but the door is also warped, but okay. Then maybe take this into consideration or do the right thing and select another door? After paying him the remainder, I asked him to come back and fix the issue. I ordered two doors with 5 sets of metal guides so the strips of wood (a trip hazard, as they run more than the entire width of the opening) could be removed. Armando said he would pick them up and be here the following weekend. Never showed. Of course. A two man crew arrived the following Thursday with the doors and the guide. They took one door out and decided they couldn't cut them down because I had chosen a style with glass panels. My ceilings in the basement are less than 84", so they needed to be trimmed down. As with a few other things, we suspect they just didn't want to do it, as my son-in-law explained to them how it could be done. They were here for about 8 hours (I was told it would be one hour, but okay). They seemed to have problems figuring out how to use the guides effectively. The head crewman told me it was because not only was my floor slightly sloped, but one of the doors was warped (as I had told them over and over). So they decided on another tack. They left for several hours and when I went downstairs, there they were with a plank of wood. I had no idea they were going to cut it larger than the existing wood strip! smh So now the issue is even bigger, even worse than before. Problem 1- for some inexplicable reason, they chose red oak for the new strips and what might as well have been a red stain. My floors are a rustic mix of light/dark grays and browns with some cream. Awesome floor. I was told the color would tone down when it dried. Nope. Never happened. The strips are red. They'll stay red unless they're sanded down and re-stained (or removed and something else properly installed). What were they thinking??? Problem 2- instead of filling all the screw holes in the flooring (the previous screws were drilled into concrete like the new ones) with a matching putty, there are putty colored holes all over the floor between these two strips of wood. This will necessitate replacing some flooring. Which I don't have. When the floor was installed, they took away whatever planks were left over. Problem 3- instead of filling the holes in the wood and wiping off the excess putty, it looks like they smeared it on and just slapped stain on top. So now of course I have these hideous areas that look like a child went wild with a paintbrush and Silly Putty. I checked the color of these wood strips every day waiting for the miracle that was supposed to occur where the red stain would magically lighten up and somehow those crazy putty spots would darken. Never happened. It's red. Some areas are shiny, some are light, but the color is red. Will I go back to Armando yet again? Nope. Never again. I'd rather have back to back colonoscopies every day for a month. Between the excuses, the spin-doctoring, the no-shows and the inability to correct their mistakes properly, I don't know how the company stays in business."

FAQs for wood fence repair projects in Fairfield, KY

Electric fences are the cheapest for residential yards, but only serve a limited purpose. Wire styles, like barbed and chain link, are also very affordable.

  • Make accurate measurements before you order products or before you call professionals for quotes.

  • Don't go overboard on style and elegance if it doesn't answer for your actual needs.

  • If you're looking at a high-end product, like redwood or cedar for wooden fencing, consider lower-end options that perform similarly, like treated pine.

  • Let your professional order materials in order to make the most of expert-only rates.

  • Consider lower-priced gates. The gate and fence material doesn't need to match to look good.

The expense of this project can be very high if you use top-of-the-line materials, need customization, or are dealing with a large area. Wire and electric options make this project much less expensive - comparable to many small home projects.

To get the correct measurements, confirm where your property lines are. Once you know this, you can measure the perimeter of your yard to find the right linear footage for your project. There may be obstructions to consider, such as trees, slopes, and utility lines. A land surveyor can help you to make the most accurate calculation. You have to keep all of this in mind, so it is valuable to consult with a contractor and your HOA, so you don't end up with the wrong product. You want to make an investment that lasts with little maintenance and repairs needed. A professional contractor can help you to maximize on your investment, choose the right materials, get price-cutting expert-only discounts and perform proper installation for optimum security and appeal.
