"Do not hire this company! I was quoted $800 to move and assured that it included everything and there would be no up-charges. The day before the company was going to move me the owner told me that his business partner had made a mistake on the quote and that it would cost him money to do my job because he had a total of 4 that were going to move me. I asked the price and he went up to $1200.He had only 2 guys that showed up to my house and I believe they were homeless men he picked up off from the street. I knew that I was in trouble when he told me not to give any of my wine bottles to his guys ?because they are in rehab?! So we get moved and they were all just so unprofessional. I had my jewelry armoire in my bedroom with my wedding and anniversary rings inside before we left. I locked the armoire . They had been in the room taking my bed apart alone. They urged me (I believe for me see that they were taken before I locked it. Both my rings were stolen from this company!"

"I cannot say enough great things about All Service Moving—and ESPECIALLY Rico and Reyes, who were absolute lifesavers for my last-minute move. After another moving company bailed on me the day before my scheduled move, All Service swooped in and saved the day. Rico and Reyes showed up EARLY, upbeat, and ready to tackle the challenge—even with super heavy furniture that usually requires a 4-person crew. Somehow, the two of them handled everything like pros without a single scratch or ding—on the furniture or either home. What really stood out was how personable, kind, and thoughtful they were. They moved quickly and efficiently, knowing I was paying by the hour, but never once sacrificed care or quality. They were kind to my mom (who was helping me out), and so sweet to my two dogs too. If you’re planning a move, ask for Rico and Reyes by name. They went above and beyond, and I want their team to know what a fantastic job they did. They deserve every bit of recognition. 100% recommend."

"They dropped my $1300 washer down a half flight of stairs in the basement. The washer is beyond repair. I went to the brewer office and talked to Craig about it, his response " but, did you get moved?". They charged me full price. They also broke a bed and banister of the old apartment and said they would fix it by the weekend."

"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

"It was truly a horrible experience, the movers that arrive offered to break their own company rules (taking down tv mount) for cash. One of them casually admitted to being too high during a conversation we were having later that day, and it made sense since he caused significant damage to my wall not long after. They assure me that their supervisor will contact me by the end of the day or the next day at most regarding the damage, which he never did. They even tried to blame me for the damage according to their customer service. On delivery, the driver arrived by himself and hired to local young gentlemen to assist him with the move. One of those gentlemen asks Coach's mover why he's choosing to work in flip flops when he has to move heavy furniture up multiple flights of stairs, the driver doesn't seem to care and continues. On furthewr inspection of my items, I notice that some like my bed spring and stool were broken. Worried about my other items like computer screens, I ask him to give me a few minutes to verify that theyre not damaged. He gets impatient and asks me to sign the documents yet againto which I refuse until I verified that my screens were working. As he was waiting for me I noticed him staring directly at me, but he had a look that even prompted me to confront him and ask if he was alright. He wasn’t successful in intimidating me but like I mentioned to customer service, someone else like my mother for example may have not felt safe in that position. I ask him to have his supervisor call me regarding his aggressive behavior, it turns out that he chose not to mention the incident to his supervisor at all. That's the type of service you're getting with Coach."

FAQs for out-of-state moving service projects in Falmouth, ME

How much money you need to live comfortably in Hawaii varies based on your housing preferences, transportation needs, and lifestyle. Many residents find ways to manage on moderate incomes by choosing less touristy neighborhoods and adapting to local living patterns. Creating a detailed budget that accounts for housing, transportation, groceries, and utilities provides a clearer picture of your specific requirements.

Living in Hawaii on $3,000 monthly is possible with careful budgeting and lifestyle adjustments. Success largely depends on housing costs, which vary significantly between neighborhoods and islands. Many residents find shared living arrangements or smaller accommodations in less expensive areas help manage expenses. Prioritizing necessities, limiting dining out, and embracing local recreational options that don't require significant spending can help stretch your monthly budget while still enjoying island living.

The hidden costs of moving to Hawaii often include unexpected shipping surcharges, agricultural inspection fees, and initial setup expenses. Many newcomers are surprised by delivery access fees for difficult locations, temporary accommodation needs while waiting for household goods, and higher utility deposits. Island-specific expenses like specialized pest control services and humidity-resistant storage solutions may also become necessary. Building a contingency fund of 10 to 15% above your estimated moving budget helps accommodate these unforeseen expenses.

How long it takes to ship household goods to Hawaii depends primarily on your chosen shipping method and departure location. Standard ocean freight often requires three to six weeks from mainland ports, with shared containers sometimes taking longer due to consolidation schedules. Air shipping dramatically reduces transit time to days rather than weeks, but at significantly higher cost. Many residents adopt a hybrid approach, sending essential items by air while allowing bulk possessions to follow by sea.

Whether you need special permits to move to Hawaii depends on the possessions you’re bringing. While American citizens don't need immigration documentation, certain items face strict regulation. Agricultural products, plants, and some animals require special permits or inspection certificates. Vehicle importation requires specific documentation and potential emissions testing. Large shipping containers may need delivery permits in certain residential areas. Consulting with transportation specialists familiar with Hawaii's requirements helps avoid compliance issues.

The items you’re prohibited from shipping to Hawaii include numerous plants, seeds, and fresh produce that might introduce invasive species to the islands' delicate ecosystem. Certain animals face strict prohibition, particularly snakes and other potential invasive species. Hazardous materials, firearms without proper documentation, and controlled substances cannot be shipped. Review current prohibited items lists from shipping companies and Hawaii's Department of Agriculture before packing, as regulations can change, and violations may result in significant penalties.
