"Because of the rains they needed to come up several times to lay materials to protect the roof. They were always timely and courteous during this process and when they put the new roof on. They did a beautiful job with the new roof, were in and out in a short time, and left the property very clean. In short, they were a wonderful Co. to do business with and the new roof is beautiful. "1. I was given incorrect information on the phone; I was told the team would show up ready to work. They didn't. They showed up to do nothing more than take pictures and notes and discuss the job so a P&E guy could work up the estimate. That's OK, except that's not what I was told on the phone.  And they were over 30 minutes late. <br /> 2.  No one ever called back. <br /> 3.  I finally called them, reminded them about the job and asked if someone was going to call, left my name and contact number (again).  I was told someone would contact me. No one ever called, again.  If you're that busy, great, at least call. <br /> Because I thought I was doing business with Scudder, I didn't call other roofers, so I ended up getting more water into my house from the leaks that I called them about. <br /> Terrible customer service and follow-through. <br /> <br /> Update: Please see my comments in the "What did the provider do?" section.  No company is perfect, and Mr. Scudder's response to my experience turned me around on using Scudder Roofing in the future."

"Everybody I dealt with at PetersenDean was very courteous and professional.  The ones I can name are: Joe Brodnik, Sahar Nessari, Linda Nguyen. The price and warranty were the best of the four quotes I received. The whole process was very smooth and I haven't had any problems with the system.  I'm very glad I chose them. <br /> They have a project status page that provided clear information at every stage.  When I emailed or called, they responded within 24 hours.  I contacted them based on customer reviews and their warranty policy.  The salesman was low key and honest.  He made it clear that there was a waiting list for installation so I knew it would take a few months.  In the end, it was faster than I expected.  They provided clear written plans and handled the city inspection completely.  The connection to PG&E quickly followed. <br /> I highly recommend them.  I have two important notes: <br /> - Be sure to get a clear picture of the schedule.  It's complicated and they may have a waiting list. <br /> - The initial quote on the phone was for a much bigger system than they were able to install.  They can only tell so much from a satellite image of the roof.  Their on-site inspection showed that my roof was more complicated and not ideal for solar.  The quote was adjusted down for a smaller system.  I understood that they were oversizing the system, so I wan't surprised.  Your roof may be simpler, but beware that this can happen. <br />"

"Their price was in line for the area, I wouldn't say I stole it but the price was reasonable. The workmanship was just fine and they did exactly what they said. I have an old house and they had to do some additional work where the roof connects to the house. They were able to figure out the additional work and did not moan and groan about it. They were always on time and cleaned up very nicely. The only problem I've had is that some of the paint on the brow vents is flaking off, this is a very minor problem though. I was extremely pleased with their performance and would recommend them to anyone, particularly if you have a home that is not standard or cookie cutter. They even repaired some termite damage by replacing about 4 feet of ceiling joist and some rafters, they did so without damaging the cathedral ceiling underneath. They removed some asbestos too. All of the employees seemed very responsive and responsible, they did a good job covering the house when we had rain so we wouldn't have to get wet. <br /> It's been winter since installation and we have had no leaks or shingle problems."

"Last winter during one of our few rain storms we developed a leak due to rusted out flashing around one of our chimneys. The leak started as a trickle on a Saturday morning and by Monday had spread to several leaks throughout our kitchen and family room. Stars and Stripe's pricing was fair and slightly lower after receiving numerous quotes to do the job. Once we made the decision to use Stars and Stripes, we were swiftly placed on a schedule to perform the repairs. A crew of four men worked on our home for a full three days to complete the roofing job. Then, a separate crew of two men followed up to install about 25 feet of new gutters and downspouts around a Portico at the entrance of our home. All work was done on time and looks beautiful. The quality of the work appears top notch. The jobsite was left clean and orderly during the procedure as well as once complete. I am looking forward to a wet winter to make sure that the leaks will be gone for good."
