"Our landscape lighting wasn't working properly. Mush of Anything Lights came out and troubleshooted the system and pointed out many deficiencies. They replaced much of the original wire and several lights and upgraded a couple of the teansformers. Also cleaned up and tuned up the entire system. Now our system is back up and running and looks beautiful. "

"Both finished walkways are beautiful, especially the back walkway in particular. We have been living with it and thinking it was as good as it could get. But when Tom finished, it's like a work of art. Great job!"

"Big Thank you to Doug at Superior Hoist-Dock in Howell Michigan. I purchased my hoist over twenty years ago. Never had a problem until one day the cable snapped. Doug at Superior Hoist-Dock took my call and was on it right away. They had a pontoon with a small crane on at my dock in a couple of days even though I live over 30 miles away. Fixed my hoist with stainless steel cable and we were back in action in no time. Wow! Thank you for the fast, friendly, and above and beyond service."

"Not so good, Charlie installed a patio in 2020 that was unsafe. He did redo it in 2021, then set dates to finish the brick pavers the last job in the contract and kept putting it off for 5 weeks to finally say he would not finish the job. Very unprofessional and rude. Would not recommend him."

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Fenton, MI

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
