"The crews arrived first thing in the morning as the boss said they would. They immediately started work and were finished roofing the house in less than four hours. The repair to the covered porch took a little longer. It was amazing how fast they replaced the rafters and the ceiling including the roofing. I am so pleased with the job that they did. The price for the job was, in my opinion, unbelievable. If you need your roof repaired or the shingles replaced, call this outfit. You won't regret it."

"Greg was very informative and had pictures of the products available to replace my old roof. He matched the shingles to a more recent shed that was built which was great. Responds promptly to text and kept me informed through the entire process. The crew working on my roof were very polite, hard working and you’d never know they had been to my house. I love my new roof and would recommend Greg and his team to anyone who is looking to replace their roof and reasonably priced. I can’t thank you guys enough for an amazing job you did!!!"

"I sent them a message through Angie's List on a Tuesday night, had a response from them before I woke up the next morning. They met with me at lunch on Wednesday, got to work on Thursday morning and the work was completed by the time my tenant got home that evening. <br> <br>The sun room/patio area of this house I inherited, and am renting to a friend, is effectively flat. It was roofed with normal roofing materials/techniques and was leaking...probably since it was installed, but I was not made aware of the problem. <br> <br>The men who came out initially identified the problem with the old installation instantly and, without hesitation, informed me that it wasn't going to be a cheap repair. I respect this very much. I'd much rather have a contractor be up front about the cost of a repair rather than lure me in with a low-ball estimate and then triple the bill once the job is complete. The price they charged was almost precisely the amount they gave me in their initial, quick on-site review of the situation. <br> <br>Their men showed up first thing the next morning, stripping the old roof material off, replacing the damaged decking that had been ruined by the leak, and installed the proper materials for this kind of nearly-flat roof. They even had a crew that finished another job in the area early in the day, and had them go over to help get the job completed faster, without charging me extra for the extra laborers. <br> <br>Everything was very prompt and professional, and my tenants are very happy that their sun room is fixed. The cost was high considering the area of roof repaired, but if you want great service and professional work you pay for it, and I have no problem paying well for this kind of service. <br> <br>I will definitely be calling on these guys for any other roofing work I need done, and will be recommending them to my customers should they ask about quality roofers. <br>"

"Every single person who I came in contact with was courteous, knowledgeable, and quick to respond if a message was left. We have a one-story house with a big roof, so the roofers were here for two days. I never saw anyone who wasn't working hard the entire time they were here, and they were well trained and experienced. My roof looks great, and I know that if I were to have a problem, Schwartz Roofing will be here to address it."

".They showed when they said they would and cleaned everything up.  It looks good.  I think they provide their customers with thicker/stronger boards to sit on while in the shelter.  I also think the shelters should come at least 5.5 to 6 feet tall.  Most families have at least one family member or friend that is over 5 feet tall.  If we have to stay in it for a hour to several hours, we need to be able to stand up.  They were careful with the equipment and quick.  I recommend you look for any cracks in your garage around where they will be installing the shelter and driveway, so if you see any cracks once they are finished you can have them fix it.  I also recommend that you tell your neighbors that you will be having a shelter installed and ask if they can move their vehicles out of the street.  Ground Zero has a very long trailer they pull their equipment on and they need room to turn around on/in the street. <br />"

"<strong>About 8 years ago</strong> we needed the roof replaced on an older house that we had purchased. After getting some recommendations we went with Danny. Responded quickly, gave a fair estimate, scheduled the date. Here's what surprised me - I came home in the evening of the scheduled date and saw no debris container in the driveway. I was like "Oh Great, the guy didn't show". Then I looked up at the roof and was completely new. Crazy. Talked to my stay-at-home neighbor and she said "Yeah, they had like 12 guys up there, took them a few hours" . Again, Crazy. Really good job, only complaint was that there were A LOT of spilled nails in the yard that I had to clean up.  <br /> <strong>Round 2</strong> - Fast forward to Early November of 2015 - lots of rain - could see a stain in the ceiling of the sunroom. Not overly concerning, but needing attention. Sent a couple of guys out, couldn't figure it out. Rains that night, bigger stain. Took another 3 or 4 day of me pestering him before the next rain to get them to respond again. The same guys came out, seemingly figured it out and after they had left, Danny himself came by to check on it, no charge of course. So far, so good. <br /> So, to sum up - <br /> <strong>Initial service</strong> - Prompt, well done, fairly priced (see above clean up caveat)  <br /> <strong>Follow Up Service</strong> - A little slow, not particularly efficient, but no charge... <br />"

"I really wanted to have a good review for BDry. The original salesperson was very friendly and helpful, and the team who came out was very respectful and really worked hard. And for starters, the system was finally installed, and my basement is waterproofed. That being said, I will not be recommending them to others. A one day job turned into 3 drawn out weeks between scheduling BDry to come out a second and third time to finish the "one day" job and to repair mistakes and then also having to reschedule our very busy contractor multiple times to work around BDry's schedule. This resulted in several days without pay for my wife and several wasted personal days that I had to take off from teaching. All told, they did not even fix everything when they came out to do repairs as the onsite worker had told me they would. They had ripped up some of our epoxied basement floor with tape (accidentally), but then when I spoke with a representative about it, they essentially said that they didn't deal with small things like that and that it was my problem. Fortunately, we had just had the epoxy done the past year so we could still find it in store. Unfortunately, the stuff only comes in a $117 container. The biggest issues came with the original salesman giving us certain specifications that we had to have met with demo work before they could come and install the system. Those were communicated to our contractor: "Cut the studs one foot up from the wall". We made sure this happened. When they arrived, they said it had to be demo-ed even further and were going to charge me a fee for it, even though we had demo-ed the way they told us. That was sorted out, and we weren't charged the fee. However, they then proceeded to cut halfway up our walls, mutilating the studs and the drywall above it with the precision of elephants. This translated to a lot of extra labor and a bit more in material costs for our contractor. Our contractor then helped put together an estimate for how much more BDry directly cost us, and it amounted to $400. $400 was a good bit more for us to be paying right now, but I thought it would be no problem at all to get BDry to cover that for us, especially since we weren't even factoring in all of my wife's lost wages. They were resolute in not giving me any discount, insisting that I should be satisfied with them "Not charging me the $300 demo fee", which is irrelevant since it was their mistake that they had to demo more in the first place. Overall, while I am very relieved that the basement is finally finished, I am exhausted from this process dragging on and am very displeased with the company's lack of consideration for our time or the extra money they cost us. I will not be considering them in the future, and I will be warning as many others away from them as possible."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Fort Benning, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
