"Dennis Hughes is NOT a licensed contractor in Allen County. We could never get him to show proof of insurance or bonding. I hope that this review will prevent someone from hiring this company. We hired him to redo a patio roof. The flashing around the utilities pipe was improperly done. The roofing was installed backwards and lacked the proper amount of nails. It was not connected to the house properly. The gutter was installed so that it was useless and prevented windows from opening. We tried to get him to correct the work but he always had some excuse for not doing the work. He was rude and combative and refused to bring his paperwork to prove he was licensed and insured. He yelled at me and my brother as we tried to help my mother resolve this issue. We finally had to hire someone else to completely redo it. I wish that the address for this work would not be revealed to Dennis."

"Unfortunately, we found Hoosier Lawn Service to be both unprofessional and unethical. After quoting a price of $945.00 for spring cleanup, they performed one of the worst jobs ever on our yard, and then billed us for the exorbitant amount of $2,615.00 (more than 2 1/2 times the agree price), even attempting to use a lawyer to extort their ridiculous fee. The following excerpt from my letter to their attorney describes the shoddiness of their work in detail: " 1) your use of improperly trained personnel (one of whom was so bad he only lasted three days in your employment and another of whom was put on “probation” by your company for ten days according to your employee Larry and Mr. Chase Jones), (2) lack of a supervisor or any employee with minimally adequate landscaping experience present for the backyard work (according to your employee/supervisor Larry), (3) failure to apply pre-emergent in backyard beds (which, according to video footage, were crawling with grass and weeds within days of the performed “work”, and for which I have paid $123.00 for repeated applications of weed and grass killer that I have spent hours applying personally all summer), (4) failure to edge and define all landscaping beds, because your company, by admission of your own personnel, did not own or have access to the proper equipment (which I had pay another company $500 to finish), (5) uneven application of mulch in all beds (we requested 1 1/2 inches of mulch; however, in many areas the depth was over double that amount and in a few areas, there was no mulch at all), (6) charging for unnecessary and excessive yards of mulch, (7) charging for excessive man-hours, and (8) charging for excessive dumping fees because your company used a ridiculously small truck bed (by local and industry standards) for removing brush. Three of your own employees agreed with me that the work performed on our yard was exceptionally poor. I also have had to replace perennials, including the contents of an entire herb garden, that were accidentally removed by your crew, as well as a pair of long handled pruners and a shovel that disappeared from my yard during the first day of work (I assume by accident, of course, as your employees, although unskilled, most certainly are not dishonest).""

Ruich Brothers Landscaping has been creating and installing impressive landscapes throughout the Fort Wayne area since 1981. We excel in build and design projects, hardscapes*, and shrub installation and maintenance. Also to our benefit is our three acre nursery filled with evergreen and shade trees of various sizes. The nursery is also where we create, sell, and store our very own compost. Creating our own compost allows us to know exactly what we are putting into new projects as we are one of very few companies in the area that produce their own compost.

"We had a mature cherry tree that was 3 feet from our deck that had some serious insect infestation and was hollow in spots. We decided to remove it and several other smaller trees that were distressed but were concerned about how close the big cherry tree was to the deck. Also, our back yard had a very steep grade that made it difficult to get equipment to the needed area. Infinity cut the cherry tree down and none of the branches even came close to the deck. Also did stump grinding and removal of debris. Did a great job!! Highly recommend them. Also the best bid that we received."
