"Ryan from MVR&R responded immediately to my call. He cleared the debris and covered the roof where the tree damaged the roof. Ryan also worked with my insurance company to complete the repairs in a timely fashion. I would hire Ryan and MVR&R again."

"Steve Parker of Duramax responded quickly to our concerns about a roof leak, arriving at our house only two hours after I called him. He made necessary repairs around a fireplace vent in less than an hour. A company I contacted earlier had sent a representative who didn't even go up on the roof but asked me to call him Friday after the next time it rained. After seeing the photos Steve took, I'm sure the roof would have leaked again had I waited. Steve was courteous and professional, and understanding about our concerns. I would hire him again in an instant and recommend him to friends."

"USA Roofing removed the old roof, replaced some of the roof decking and the ridge vent, and installed a new roof on a 2 story house. They completed the work in about 10 hours on a single day. The crew was efficient and the work was top quality. They paid special attention to flashing around the chimney and vents to prevent leaks. They cleaned up all of the debris and didn't leave any mess. The bid from USA roofing was about $400 more than the other roofer I considered, but after talking to both companies, I thought USA Roofing would do a higher quality job and would not cut corners. To me, it was worth the extra money to have confidence in the company I was working with. Tammy Hurt was easy to work with and made sure the job was done right. I am very pleased with the results. The roof looks good, and I have had no problems with leaks."

"I am highly pleased with the new roof (Owens Corning Duration) and the work Moss Roofing performed. More than one layer of shingles were present when I purchased the house, and roof leaks developed in two rooms on opposite sides of the house. One of these areas had a low slope (2/12), and Benny suggested an alternate rubber material used on flat roofs for this portion of the roof. He also built a diversion in this area to channel water away from a corner where water would get trapped against the wall. I can't notice the difference from the ground, and it has improved my peace of mind to know this area is now draining properly for the first time ever, ice accumulation will not be an issue, and I won't have to fix the closet ceiling more than once! Benny also replaced some old deteriorated trim boards and installed insulated hoses in the attic to vent the bathroom fans properly. The whole crew was professional, hard working, and cleaned up after themselves. I originally considered a contractor certified platinum by Owens Corning with a slightly better warranty (on the labor portion only, material warranty is equivalent), however Owens Corning dictates that all materials be made by them for the platinum warranty. Moss Roofing is a preferred Owens Corning contractor, but could work outside the box a little more (e.g. they used Lomanco vents as this company focuses on vents only and out-performs Owens Corning in this area). With the money I saved and the quality of work performed, I am confident I made the right selection."

"Owner Rick Campbell was involved and helpful throughout the whole process. If you have not replaced a roof in the last 10 years, the process has changed significantly with/without insurance companies. Due to possible hail/weather damage, Rick performed an initial inspection with pictures to document to share with my agent. After deciding to file a claim, Rick met with the insurance adjusters for their inspection and subsequent decision to replace. Rick's crew removed and replaced all shingles, repairing some roofing boards as necessary, and replaced all vents and gutters and installed gutter guards. They completed all work and clean up in two days. Rick recommended a price competitive shingle with a better rating and longer history. This shingle also qualified for an insurance discount due to its rating. Working with Rick was a pleasure and his regular presence on site was comforting and appreciated to address issues that come up with a project of this magnitude. Rick's knowledge of the roofing industry, roofing materials, the insurance process, and his experienced installers all helps to insure a quality finished product. I was not looking forward to a roof replacement or the process on my only 13 year old home, but the overall experience was professionally and efficiently completed. They get my highest contractor recommendation! Thank you!"

"We recently had our roof replaced by Bone Dry Roofing. The entire process, working with John Borwoy our sales rep with Bone Dry, homeowners insurance and choosing new roofing shingles was a smooth process. John helped us throughout the entire process and kept us informed with each step. As issues came up, there was great communication with John to solve each situation. The workers who removed the old shingles and installed the new ones were simply the best. The foreman of the crew, Gerardo, was the best. He kept us informed when a problem arose with the decking and let us know how it was being resolved. He did keep in touch with us throughout the whole job. Cleanup was very thorough. We would recommend Bone Dry Roofing to anyone!"

"My husband met with Gary (I was at work) and he provided my husband with a folder full of glossy pictures. I had Universal Roofing do some work for me in the past (roof and gutters) when I was living in another house and was anticipating hiring them again to roof my new house. However, when we received the estimate, which was very detailed, it was much higher in price than we were anticipating paying to roof our house and chose the other company. Universal is a good roofing company, but just a little on the expensive side."

"In general the job was good. The quality of the roofing job itself was very good. This job required a fair amount of trim work to be done along with the roofing job. The roofing crew did the trim work originally and really did not do the best job on the trim work.  Don  made sure that it was done to my satisfaction by fixing the issues. This required that he remove all the trim work that had been done and replace it a with new. He did this all at his expense. He also replaced a gutter that the roofers had damaged pretty badly during the roof replacement. <br /> I am also very pleased with the flashing around my brick chimneys.  I am not an expert in this area but it appears to be done very well to me and looks very good. <br /> I was vey pleased in the way that he handled my concerns after the job and for me that is what should be expected of a contractor. <br /> I was very happy with the job once it was finished and would recommend using Don's company for work you need done. <br />"

"Rodeffer Roofing was amazing to work with, Rodney Rodeffer helped us pick out the color and they were prompt in ordering materials. We have a large home and the roof went on in quickly even though we had it done in January. They found an issue with our roof vents and were able to fix them as well. I am very grateful for the service and excellent craftsmanship."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Fountaintown, IN

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
