"They replaced our entire roof with architectural shingles. The work was done quickly (this process took less than one day) and the new shingles look amazing. The spring was very wet, and we have not had a single issue with our new roof."

"I am extremely pleased with the work done. Not only was it done quickly and at an affordable price but this provider went out of his way to help me make decisions and picked up materials to expedite the time frame. I have already hired this provider to install hardwood floors, paint, electrical, lighting, and install new exterior windows. I called other providers who didn't show up or were triple the cost. I'm so happy I found this provider. He has a great work ethic and is more reasonable than anyone I have called in the past. Thank you. <br />"

"We had had a leak in a water pipe between the walls of our kitchen and powder room. When the plumber came to fix the leak, he discovered mold on the interior of the drywall. We called Servpro to come and get rid of the molded wall and the floor tiles that were coming up because of the leak. They did come and remove all of the damaged areas and cleaned up thoroughly any mess that they had made. They had to leave their dryers and dehumidifiers for six days to take care of any remaining sources of moisture. All in all, they did good work. Their only drawback was their lack of promptness. If you don't mind waiting, they are good."

"They are very friendly and professional. They removed my old cabinets and cleaned up the kitchen. They gave me a lot of professional advice on the maintenance of my new cabinets. Their service was amazing. They are very patient and handled any concerns I had very well. The cabinets are top quality. The colors match perfectly."

"Rick and Co. had to gut my entire kitchen after water damage occurred. They had to replace the flooring, bottom kitchen cabinets, wall cabinets, and countertop. It did take a considerable amount of time to complete the job (I think due to the damage occurring right before Thanksgiving and Christmas and the fact that we ordered custom everything) If there was something not completed to our liking, they were quick to make it right. All in all, it took from October 2011 - March 2012 to finish all the work. They are some of the nicest people I've met."

"It didn't go as planned. The first counter-top was measured, designed, and installed with a joining edge right over the dishwasher - where there was no under-counter supporting structure. So, a few days later when I had to post-up on the counter to get an item in on a high cabinet shelf, the seam cracked. The crack was very apparent. While it took some time, Deans did a valiant job of correcting this issue. They sent their own-in house person to attempt to fix it, he decided he didn't want to touch it. Then they brought in a traveling specialist who spent an afternoon attempting to correct it. The fix strengthened the structure but actually added seams. Lastly, they removed the counter-top, took it back to the shop, and repaired it. They didn't re-order the material - they used the same installed countertop with some of the scraps that they had from the original installation. Also, we ordered the counter top in a high gloss. When it arrived it was not very glossy. Deans sent over - on 2 separate times - repairmen who attempted to re-surface the installed counter-top to a higher sheen. At the end of the day, Deans didn't do a well with taking the order and designing the top, but they excelled with trying to make it right for us. They didn't give us alot o grief once they came to grips with where the fault lay. While the final product worked well enough for us to get positive reviews from friends and visitors, the top was not like the countertop on display at their store."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Friendsville, MD

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
