"<p>I contacted Paul with All About Wood after reading his reviews on Angie's List.  He sounded very knowledgeable and interested in my project.  He took time to explain the pros and cons of different things I was considering for my kitchen update.  Next, I sent Paul pictures of my kitchen and he was able to help me clarify many things by text message.  Paul and his wife came to measure and go over the work he would do in detail and draw up a contract for us to sign. </p> <p> Several weeks later they returned to complete the job.  Chrissy primed and then painted the cabinet boxes to match everything that had been made and painted in the shop. Then they installed all the beautiful new doors, drawers and cabinet that had been  made for my kitchen.  They both did an excellent job and I could not be happier with my "new" kitchen.  I went from dark brown (old) wood to a "lighter tan" color that brightens up my entire kitchen area. </p> <p> Paul kept me informed along the way by sending pictures of the new cabinet drawing and finished product.  They arrived on the prearranged date and were prompt and professional in their work.  I have already asked that he measure my bathroom vanities for upgrades and frames for large unframed mirrors in my baths. </p> <p>I feel that the quality I received for the money spent was outstanding and I look forward to many years of cooking and entertaining in my kitchen/living area.   </p> <br />"

"I researched various types of kitchen countertops for a while, and chose quartz instead of granite because the prices were comparable, the color pattern was more consistent with quartz (without picking out a particular slab of granite), and I did not have to consider future resealing as a possibility. I also considered several different vendors and received estimates. Then I entered my request online with Origins Granite, which was recommended by others on Angie's List, and immediately received a call from them. They sent a representative to my home that brought various samples. I decided to use them because the price they quoted me was all-inclusive and better than previous estimates, including all the plumbing work, new sink and edge cuts that cost extra with other vendors. The only thing that I had to purchase separately was the faucet; they used the model number to fabricate the holes needed in the countertop. About one week after signing the contract, they called to say my color choice had become unavailable. They presented three other choices but recommended one of the three as the closest to my original choice. I agreed and immediately realized from my previous research that it was from a more expensive manufacturer. They assured me that my original price quote would not change. They took care of everything: measurements were taken and installation was completed on the date I originally requested. I am very happy with the outcome; it is a great match for my kitchen. All of the people I dealt with at the office and in my home were very accommodating, courteous and professional. I would highly recommend this company to others. <br />"

"They have done several different projects for us over the last few months. They've installed a shed, provided different handyman services, and cleaned our windows. The work is always done until we're completely satisfied. They have proper credentials, they're timely, orderly, and are as neat as can be."

"<p>He did an excellent job.    At the time, he was managing the maintenance of an apartment complex, so he was only available on the weekends.  However, the work was completed every weekend, including holidays (July 4 specifically).   He kept us appraised of progress and tweaked his work along the way.   For example, when he started we didn't think there was that much dirt and sediment on the boat launch. and we asked that the dirt be placed upon the upper level.   Once we realized how much dirt there was, he changed the design of the wall to include deadmen (I think that's what he called them) to ensure the wall wouldn't collapse.   He did a wonderful job and would periodically request we review his work to ensure we were happy.   He is a hard worker and never sits still.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Glasgow, WV

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
