"Lindus Construction did an excellent job on our roof replacement and light tube installation. We appreciated their communication during the project and the on site crew was fabulous. Hard working, excellent teamwork, got whole project done in one day and did an excellent job of cleaning up the site. Would definitely recommend them."

"The project went well though the sudden onset of winter delayed its start until this year. They don't take chances with bad weather and an open roof and that's a good thing though it requires a bit of patience on your part. Dave made it painless with him taking care of most all of the dealings with the insurance company and taking care of any concerns I had- he went up and inspected the roof to make sure it would survive until spring arrived. As a former roofer I can only say the crew was awesome- they stripped and installed well over 30 squares of shingles on a house with multiple gables in less than a day. The workmanship was top notch with nice, even straight edges and the clean up was phenomenal- they left it better than they started. The CertainTeed Landmark shingles look great- the brochure/ online pictures don't do the color pattern justice and because Donahue Roofing is certified by CertainTeed as a "Select Shinglemaster", you get a much better warranty. One big reason we chose Donahue Roofing is that they've been around 30 years and are a local company- if there is an issue you know who and where to call unlike the "stormchasers" who pack up and leave town after the job is done."

"Facia installed looked better than the original install, it was straight and not one bit uneven, Shingles install was the best install I’ve seen, every corner and angle was put together perfect. I have had 3 storm damage roof repairs in 10 years and used a different contractor on each. I wish I would have found EZ Home on the first two installs."

"I had the great fortune to work with Keith from Buildtec. Our roof sprung a leak and he was at our house the next day. Within 2 weeks we had a new roof. He walked me through all of the insurance documents needed, it was honestly painless. His team worked fast, quality was outstanding and there was absolutely no clean up on my end. Very impressed to say the least, highly recommend! -Brandon"

"The job was done in one day and done perfectly.   The color match was excellent.  I couldn't have asked for better quality in the product and craftsmanship. The crew arrived on time and simply went to work providing gutters exactly to my specifications.  They did a complete clean up before they left and even managed to keep my dog inside the gate.  I was happy to write them a check when they finished because I got exactly what I wanted an it looks great."

"I had hail damage and because I waited too long to file a claim, my insurance company just gave me a check for part of the cost to replace my roof. Action Roofing and Siding was the first of five companies I had out to give me a quote. Overall, Nick gave me the best price, but he was a bit persistent for my tastes. Called once a week for three weeks to see if I'd made a decision yet. Personally, I prefer to do the calling. I wasn't happy with the shingle offering either, but his price <em>was</em> the lowest of five. Nevertheless, I went with another company. <br />"

"They were very fast and very responsive.  There work to find the leak and fix it was well done, very prompt, and at a good price. <br /> They went above and beyond, even coming over on a weekend when we noticed a panel of siding that was bending near the work they did.  They came over and fixed it within an hour of my email.  Incredible!  <br /> They customer service throughout was excellent and their workmanship was, too.   <br /> We'd recommend them to all.  We've already recommended them to a friend who has some interior work needed. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Glenwood City, WI

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
