They called the night before to get details of what they'd need to pick up, and showed up on time.  The cost, quoted beforehand, was much less than I'd expected given the cost of renting a Dumpster, which I'd also considered.  The price above includes gratuities, which I was able to add to the credit card charge,

Junk King takes everything and then recycles/repurpose what they can, which we appreciated.  We were able to discard electronics, which many places won't take. 

The 2 guys who packed up our items were pleasant and professional.  They tried to get the refrigerator up the basement stairs, decided the opening might be too narrow, took it DOWN the stairs again, and attempted to move it out through the sliding glass doors onto the patio.  They ran into people who were refinishing our patio (who should have been done weeks ago)  who were belligerent and told them they couldn't take the refrigerator onto the patio or it would wreck the new surface.  The Junk King guys dragged it up the stairs again and got it out successfully, with only a minor scrape on the door to the garage.  They pointed it out to us and gave us 15% off the bill without being asked.

Highly recommended- what a relief to have our discards gone and know that they'll make their best efforts to keep them out of landfills!
