"We have an older home. During the takedown of the older deck, we discovered a solid mass of concrete underneath it. Attempts to break it up with a sledgehammer werenâ t working, nor was drilling successful in breaking it apart. (I believe the concrete is the top to a bomb shelter built in the 1950s as there are some in our neighborhood.) The crew brought in an engineer to re-examine the plan and proceeded with a new plan that required more work. Yet, the cost didnâ t increase. We are very happy with our new composite deck â ¦ and are very happy that Green Shield built it. The crew that built it was outstanding, considerate and very professional. I wouldnâ t hesitate to call Green Shield for any future projects."
