We worked with one of their designers, Claudia, who walked us through the entire design process and was incredibly detail oriented. She really understood the look we were going for, and she had helpful suggestions for every aspect of the project, from colors to types of tile to bathroom and light fixtures. She spent hours with us before the work ever began. We appreciated the specificity of Select's contract, which detailed exactly which expenses were standard in a project like this, and which ones were based on our specific selections (like cabinetry and tile) so we always knew where we could cut back if needed. Claudia's work was so thorough up front that there were no surprises once the remodel work started. She estimated that it would take six weeks and it did, with no surprise costs added to our bill. During the project, the work was overseen by one of Select's managers, John, who was in constant contact with us and came to the house regularly. He made sure the project kept moving even with some COVID-related disruptions, he was present for various city inspections, and we felt confident the work was being done correctly and according to plan. At multiple stages throughout the project, we met with John to review the overall plan and make decisions on specific elements like tile placement and outlet locations. John and his staff were patient with us and did an excellent job explaining the current stage of construction and what would be coming next. We liked their work so much we hired them for some small additional maintenance needs around our house. We had two workers on the project, one with expertise in demolition and electrical, and the other a tile expert. They never missed a day and we felt they were very respectful of our house and outdoor space. The project was expensive – Select had the highest estimate of the contractors we interviewed, but we wanted everything to be done to the highest standards, and we felt that it was. Everyone told us to expect delays and surprise costs during a remodel. Select completed the job exactly on schedule with no additional costs even during a global pandemic. Our new bathroom has totally surpassed our expectations and we absolutely love it. The tile work in the shower is particularly amazing. I would highly recommend Select to anyone considering a major renovation."

From the start we were really impressed with Daniel and Erika and their friendly, down-to-earth demeanor, and their intentionality to listen to our thoughts and show us the overwhelming options. They were great at communicating throughout the whole project, very knowledgable and thorough. Their work crews were friendly, professional, amazingly clean, conscientious, hard-working, and detail-oriented in every regard of their work. They were originally scheduled to start the work after the new year, but in the end they were able to bump up both of our bathroom remodels to the 3 weeks leading up to Christmas, and they blew us away with how quickly they were able to get the projects completed. "The guys at Z and O Construction did a really nice job of replacing my back deck! The company owner, Oral Aydogdu, was very knowledgeable and helpful when explaining the work to be done. His Crew Chief, a gentleman named Lazarov, was a real master at building and fabricating things, and each of the guys on the crew was a solid professional. It was a pleasure having them around, watching them work, and learning some of their tricks and techniques for doing things! These guys did a beautiful job of replacing my deck, and bringing it up to current Fairfax County codes. This new deck is much better and stronger than the old deck was, and should last for many years!"

"Waited a year to post a review (never no if things turn bad later). All in all, had a very good experience during the 'pandemic' era. Farzan was a great point of contact, and they were quick to address a few small problems that I noticed afterward (one of the installed floor planks had a crack, for example) with no additional charges. They finished our basement remodel (adding a shower, painting, removing old rugs, installing new wood/stained stairs, etc) within a week of their original estimate, so definitely points for that. Prices were reasonable compared to other estimates as well-"

"Awful, awful experience. A true nightmare. They charged tens of thousands of dollars and messed up basically every aspect of our bathroom remodel. Given multiple opportunities to fix their problems, they did not. Extremely sloppy, low quality work. The work on the bathroom was clearly done by someone who has never seen a bathroom or used one, much less built one before. The shower leaks, the tile was so crooked and bumpy it had to be ripped out twice, the radiators were badly reinstalled and dripped water down through the floors into to kitchen below, the walls and ceilings they built are not straight or square, the sink handles immediately fell off, they caused a $1000 plumbing clog and our basement to flood with sewage by flushing construction debris down our toilet. Instead of replacing pipes, they kept the old pipe which we had asked them to replace, and then tried to hide and cover it up. They would also show up unannounced and let themselves into our home on days when they had not told us they would be coming or that we were supposed to expect anyone to be in our house. So on multiple occasions I would hear an unexpected noise and I'd look over and see someone in my house who I had never seen before in my life. And every time we raised an issue to them, they either ghosted us or tried to convince us it was fine and that their work had been done correctly. I have pictures to document all of these issues. I will never let anyone from DMV enter my house again and I will tell everyone I can to never do business with this company. Scammers, liars, incompetent, I hope they go out of business."
