"Great experience! Gerry was really responsive and able to install our cabinets quickly. When our countertop guy came to install he said he rarely sees cabinets this level. Would highly recommend"

"The manufacturer refused to help us and wanted to deal with the original installers, who were out of business. Jill went above and beyond to assist us; she stayed on top of the situation, and always followed up with me concerning the status of the parts. We even used Southwest to get everything installed. I will be using this company in the future if I need anything else for my cabinets."

"<p>Erin came to our home to evaluate our kitchen and give us a bid on the work, which he was able to do on the spot. We also got a bid from a cabinetmaker, who does not do refacing, for replacement of the cabinets. This bid was considerably lower than the one from Let's Face It, but the materials they specified would not have been at the same level of quality, and the job would have entailed considerable complication, coordination, inconvenience, risk, and additional expense, with other contractors having to undertake removing and reinstalling our granite countertops, which we wanted to keep. So we decided to go with refacing, which would not impact the granite in any way. </p> <p>Erin returned to make extensive careful measurements for everything that would be needed, placed his order with the company in Wisconsin that actually builds the doors and drawer fronts, and set a date for installation several weeks away, when he expected to have received the finished product from the factory. We arranged to have him do the installation (Erin does all the finicky finish work of fitting the doors and drawers and veneering the exposed cabinet parts, which he estimated would require nearly three full days of work), while we were away, and for us to return to inspect the work and make final payment the day he completed it, and we gave him a deposit for half of the contracted amount.</p> <p>In the meantime, one of the appliances in our kitchen died (a two-drawer, under-counter refrigerator unit). We ordered a replacement of a different brand (Sub-Zero) that would require custom drawer fronts matching our cabinets. Once we received that unit, Erin again returned to measure carefully for the fronts, and submitted an (expedited) order to Wisconsin for them to be built.</p> <p>Everything went exactly as planned and described by Erin. We did our part before leaving town, removing everything from all the cabinets and drawers and countertops as he had requested. He showed up a couple of days after we left on vacation, exactly as promised, having stayed in communication with us and confirmed the arrangements with a couple of calls. We talked by phone again the day before we returned, and he confirmed he would in fact be finished with the job on the following day as promised.</p> <p>The kitchen was absolutely beautiful: completely transformed visually, even though essentially all the cabinets were the same as before. It looked like a completely different (and much classier and more expensive) kitchen. It was a somewhat challenging job for Erin (I know because I have built cabinets myself): Euro-style cabinets with demanding tolerances for uniform gaps between doors and drawers, concealed hinges. His workmanship (he does it all himself) was absolutely superb. He takes unabashed pride in the quality of his work, and rightly so.</p> <p>The add-on of the refrigerator drawer-fronts required Erin to return to install them a week or so later, as the expedited order still did not quite arrive before the main installation, but that was a very quick job, and again performed exactly when and how promised.</p> <p>The only thing that I could begin to describe as unsatisfactory is the surprise we got at the cost of the additional custom drawer fronts. It turns out that their price more or less doubled because Erin made it a special expedited order, a fact that he did not share with us in advance. Faced with this considerable increase (a difference of about $200), we might have decided not to expedite and simply to live with naked drawer fronts a couple of weeks longer. Then again, we might not have.</p> <p>All in all, we are very pleased with our decision and with our selection of Let's Face It. If your kitchen cabinets are dated and you want to update the look of your kitchen, but are basically happy with the kitchen cabinet layout, this is really a great option compared to replacing all of the cabinets. You can keep the appliances you have, or update them too (assuming basically they stay the same size and location); the same goes for the countertops. And you can't go wrong with the service and craftsmanship of Erin at Let's Face It.</p> <br />"

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Green Valley, AZ

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
