"This was one of the best experiences we have had working with a contractor. It was a for a large install of ceramic tile. From removing the old hardwood, to leveling, to tile install and quarter round install through final cleanup, all was great. The finished flooring looks fantastic! Very diligent, thorough and professional from start to finish. As a bonus they also painted an area of our home with 16’ ceilings and it looks great, saving us time and a lot of effort. 5 stars plus!!!"

"I cannot recommend this company enough. They painted the exterior of our home for us, and it turned out absolutely beautiful. Jon and his team were wonderful to work with; they were great communicators, punctual, and accommodating throughout the entire process. From the quote process to the very finish, PCC’s attention to detail and their clients’ needs was top notch. We sought out several quotes before we chose PCC, but they made the decision easy. Jon made us feel like friends more than customers, and it just made the whole process more enjoyable in general. Highly recommend! Hire Palmetto Ceramic Coatings for your next painting project; you will not be disappointed!"

"Avery and Susan came to our house and repaired severely damaged shutters (squirrels had eaten into them) and replaced exterior trim pieces that had rotted. They sanded and painted four support columns on the front porch and painted several portions of the exterior trim. They also repaired and painted sagging gutters."

My grandfather, John Ward Sr., was an old world craftsman. When my grandfather came home from World War II, he began painting houses in Aiken County, SC to make a living. In those days, painters made colors on the job from linseed oil, white lead, and natural pigments. My dad, John Ward Jr., learned the painting trade working alongside the old master tradesman as a teenager. \n \nMy dad came to Greenwood in the mid 1960’s. He started what is now John Ward Painting while a student at Lander College in 1969. Because of my dad’s old fashioned beliefs learned from my grandfather, John Ward Painting has operated continuously in Greenwood since 1969. As a result of this family tradition, there is a very good possibility that my dad painted your house in years past, or painted your parent’s house. \n \nLike my dad, I began working alongside my dad as a teenager. After graduating from Lander College in 1989, I began working as a painter on my dad’s crew in 1992. My dad insisted that I learn every aspect of the job before becoming the President of John Ward Painting in 1995. I currently live in Greenwood with my wife Ann, son John Ward IV (Jack), daughter Harriet, two dogs and 3 cats. \n

"Owner Ricky Stroup was infinitely patient with us, as after our initial meeting it took us over a year to hire his company to do this work. During that year, we had multiple conversations with him regarding the scope of our project, and he was as willing to contract the scope as to expand it. He wrote several proposals for us, so we could see the financial impacts of our different scope options. Our indecision on scope, and delay in scheduling, never caused any frustration or ill will on his part. Mr. Stroup was helpful, friendly, and patient throughout! His team installed everything in one day, and all who worked on our project were extremely courteous and professional. We have been very impressed with the quality of the work. Working with Gutter Glove of North Carolina was an enjoyable experience, and I recommend this company!"

"Dan and Sheila Brothers did an excellent job of cleaning and staining our log home..After learning the hard way, we now know "NOT" to hire a regular house painter but professionals with a knowledge of logs and this team has the knowledge.. <br /> They live approx.two hours from Columbia but are mobile and were always here when they said they would.. So location is not a problem.. <br /> We would absolutely use their services again....  Dan and Sheila went above and beyond all expectations..Covered plants and shrubs, cleaned outside windows, even did husbands small workshop at no extra charge..... <br /> The weather was not favorable (rain) but despite that everything couldn't be better... <br /> <br />"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Greenwood, SC

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
