I'm very experienced in remodeling homes. I came up in the business as a young boy following behind a general contractor and architect my father. I'm a native of North Carolina so I know the rules and the ends and out of this business. I'm very reliable I communicate very well with my customer. There's not a job too big or small so give us a call.

"Ms Mitchell is a real jewel. We had some antique lacquered pieces and wanted wall color to compliment them. That is when we discovered that Jillian has a degree in fine arts. She is also a highly sought after set painter and has travelled from New Hampshire to Savannah on theatre and TV jobs. Because she is not pushy she didn't volunteer her opinion until in frustration we asked her. The rooms are perfection. She is always on time,m works tirelessly and leaves no mess. We learned that she paints murals on walls and ceilings and is a master of faux finishes."

"<p>I left a message for Mr. Dickerson and he returned my phone call immediately.  Although he was out-of-town, he arranged for a time the following week to provide an estimate.  He also offered to bring a Sherwin Williams consultant to assist me in choosing a paint color.  I had to cancel but would consider using this business in the future or recommending this business.</p> <br />"

"Work exceeded expectations! Price was very reasonable. They completed the job quickly and took great care to protect anything that was not to be painted (sidewalks, deck, shrubs). Communication throughout the process was outstanding. No details were left out - even painted the mailbox post to match the house trim color! It was clear that they took great pride in their work and wanted to make us happy with the finished product. We could not have anticipated a better experience and would certainly use them again!"

"We just had our 3 story house resided with hardiplank by DHConstruction. Brian Howell was the person who we interacted with and who you want to make sure to deal with. He was excellent, carefully explaining everything, identifying additional problems found, and making the pricing and payment easy to understand. He was in constant contact so we always knew what was happening and being planned. <br /> <br />DH Construction was not the lowest bid we received. However, it was easily the best choice given the excellent job they did. They use superior materials, including paint and wrapping the house in rainguard to let the house breathe while keeping moisture out. The work was top notch and the house looks great. We found the usual facia that needs to be replaced and a rotten window frame and base sill of the house. All taken care of by Brian and his crew (at extra cost of course). We didn't have to call any other contractors, including people to replace the gutters. They even blind nailed the siding where ever we didn't have 2x4 crowning problems due to the house's original construction. <br /> <br />If you want to go with the lowest bid somewhere else, watch out for one layer of inexpensive paint, little prep and priming, schedule delays, extra cost for electrical connections, confusing billing, face nailing everything, not wrapping the house in rainguard, higher cost to replace rotten wood, poor workmanship and shoddy cleanup. You get what you pay for. <br /> <br />We highly recommend Brian Howell and D H Construction. <br />"

"Mr. Hargrove was extremely prompt and professional when first contacted to make a bid.  His initial evaluation was thorough and his bid well itemized.  There was additional damage found as wood from affected areas were removed, his team reported it immediately and the bid was adjusted accordingly.  Mr. Hargrove was very intentional and deliberate about keeping in constant contact with us and all the monetary adjustments were very reasonable. <br />  His team was very responsive to questions and observations as the work was being done.  Extra care was also taken to clean up after the work was completed.  Though Mr. Hargrove was very professional in every other way, it would have been easier for us if they accepted major credit cards.  Overall, we would whole-heartedly recommend Hargrove's Home Improvement and we thank Mr. Hargrove and his team for an extremely difficult job well done. <br />"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Hamlet, NC

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
