When I spoke with this contractor, I asked for an estimate. They said they would provide a free estimate. When he got there, I assume he realized that the issue was insignificant and decided to point out the problem. No true repairs were needed, so he decided he would charge me a ?Troubleshooting Fee? of $200 on the backend. I believe in paying for work done but deciding a random charge that was not discussed beforehand is a dishonest practice. Disclose ALL charges up front."
