"Marquis Tree Service was great from start to finish on this big job. John Marquis came out to scope the work, calculated the price on the spot, and tagged the trees that needed to be removed. A few trees were within the wetland buffer zone, so John wrote an excellent, detailed letter to our Conservation Commission to get approval for the removal. I had to be out of town the day they were scheduled to take down the 13 tall pines near our house, and I was worried about not being there to deal with issues, but John assured me all would be well. He called me that morning before they started the job, called me during the job to discuss taking down one more tree that hadn't been tagged initially, and confirmed when the work was done. I expected some damage to the lawn or driveway, but when I got home the only evidence that the crews had been there was the missing trees. He suggested trimming the lower branches of a couple other trees. He was very knowledgeable about trees in general and gave me a few options in terms of work and payment.
At first I was hesitant to work with him as he looked fairly young. He said he has been doing this for about 10 years and just recently started his own company. Based on his knowledge of the profession and the quality of work done I'd say that seems accurate.
He showed up when he said he would and did a wonderful job. Overall I was very happy with the work.
