Small jobs welcome

"Mission Impossible (transforming an overgrown narrow, rutted, rooty dirt path into a gorgeous 3-ft.-wide edged stone walkway with a small patio and entryway) is complete, and we could not be happier. The installation makes a design statement without in any way overwhelming our 1876 farmhouse—the stone is incredible, the work is artful and solid, and the project seems to grow out of the landscape, exactly what we wanted. The artistry and attention to detail in choosing/placing the stones elevates the installation to something truly special. Since our primary residence is 90 minutes away, we greatly appreciated the numerous photos, texts, and calls to update us on progress, as well as Rock 'N Garden's reliability, timeliness, and punctuality. At the end, the job site was left clean as a whistle. This is five-diamond work, and we have already contracted for another project on our property."

"Mike Sheehan responded to my inquiry on Angie's List. He came for an estimate on June 11 . The work started on June 27 and was finished on June 28. There were 3 workers working nonstop for 2 days. The old steps were taken off and the stone steps were put on. They really give a new look to the house. My neighbors gave me complements on the work."

"The team at MFS Masonry are AWESOME! Mike and his team replaced our front steps and walkway with pavers. The stairs and walkway are amazing! Mike is professional and his work ethic along with his team exceeds expectations. Mike gave great advice to fit our needs for the project, he was happy to answer any questions or concerns we had. I would highly recommend this company and will use them for future projects."

"Anton was easy to work with. Sent email on a Sunday. He called in five minutes and came that afternoon to look at the job. Replaced baseboard in four bedrooms and repaired a hole in the ceiling. All work was completed in two days starting that Monday. The carpenter that did the baseboards (I think his name is John) was great, neat and did a wonderful job. I will definately call Anton again. "We are absolutely thrilled with the patio and wall Roger and crew built for us. Everything was top notch. It is hard to find a provider as friendly, punctual and competent as they were. It was very nice to see how the crew functioned so well as a team, right from start to finish. The patio looks great! Would hire them again in a second."

"All the work was completed above expectations. Very hard workers and an owner who clearly takes pride in his business and the service they provide. The owner is very knowledgeable and has great vision for how the yard could look. Cost was reasonable, as well. My wife and I could not be happier with the results and will be using The Garden Experience for future projects."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Highland, NY

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
