"After 26 years we knew, the time had come to replace our existing roof. At the recommendation of our neighbor, we placed a call to Brian Fallon at Trenton Roofing. At our home visit/evaluation Brian thoroughly explained the roofing process and within a few days submitted an estimate for the work we had discussed. In October of 2020 we signed the contracts and were given an estimated installation date. Brian kept us informed of the material availability and the anticipated date of install. In January of 2021 we received notification that Trenton Roofing had received all materials for our job and the work was scheduled. The day of the install the Trenton Roofing crew arrived promptly and within one day the entire process was complete. The crew was amazing – they were careful, efficient and their workmanship superior. Our yard was meticulously checked and cleared of all debris. We were so impressed with the roof install that we decided to engage Trenton Roofing for window replacement. In March of 2021 Brian Fallon along with Robert the window installer, visited our home to measure all existing windows. Once again within a few days we had an estimate for the new windows and installation. We were told from the start that our order would take between 8-12 weeks and installation would take approximately 3 days. We were delighted when windows arrived at the two-month mark and installation was scheduled. On the day of installation Robert and his team arrived promptly and went straight to work. Within 2.5 days Robert had completed the removal and installation of 25 windows. His work - sheer perfection! Robert is truly a master craftsman you would never even know that the new windows were not the existing ones in the home. His careful and precise work left the original window framework completely intact. Words cannot describe how thoroughly delighted we are in the finished product. Once again, Brian Fallon communicated with us every step of the way – made site visits to our home the day of the roof install and during the window Installation as well. Five Stars are not enough to give to Brian, Robert and to the Trenton Roofing team. If you are contemplating roof/window replacement – don’t think twice just call Trenton Roofing. The entire team are true professionals. Thank you for the excellent job – our house never looked better! Joe and Anne Paglione – Yardley, PA"

"I highly recommend Surf & Turf for your new roof. From their sales reps, to their finance department to their installation crew, they are very helpful and professional. We are particularly grateful to Karen, Tyler and Owen for their guidance and support and for helping use deal with our solar company. The poor installation of our previous roof, plus the constant moisture under the solar panels caused the roof to deteriorate much quicker than normal. With Karen and Tyler’s help, we were able to have the solar panels removed and replaced for no cost. Karen worked with us and with reps from the solar company. Tyler met with them at our home and supported us and our needs. We now have a beautiful new roof, with a lifetime guarantee (through the manufacturer, Owens-Corning), even with the solar panels installed. I just really want to thank Karen, Tyler, Owen and everyone at Surf & Turf for their work and their support."

"My roof looks like new! No algae or mold anywhere, and the all dirt has been cleaned off. Plus, Paul took his time to look over the roof and report on it's condition. After he was done, the cleanup left the area around my house looking better than before. Couldn't be happier with the experience. Thanks!"

"If you are thinking of getting your roof replaced, updated, and/or repaired look no further than Economic Roofing - period, end of story! In terms of level of service here’s what you are going to get: Overall Customer Service A+++ Overall Quality Service A+++ Overall Satisfaction A+++ Pricing A+++ I called Economic Roofing to get a quote and the owner, John stepped in and right from the jump went above and beyond my expectations. From start to finish, he kept me informed about every step of the process and price estimates of material service even though I could tell he was extremely busy. Their team found a whole bunch of rotten plywood so they replaced those as well. He truly cares and takes pride in the quality of his work. The level of service and the integrity which I experience from John was beyond compare to ANY other roofing customer service that I have ever received or experienced. Thank you, Economic Roofing, and thank you John! I will certainly look to Economic Roofing for any future roofing needs and I will be sure to tell all whom I know in need of roof care, look no further than Economic Roofing. In short, EXCELLENCE!!!"

"We got our roof done by United Roofing & Restoration Inc. recently and they did a great job. They called us to let us know what time they would be arriving and they actually arrived on the time said. They took care of the roof and threw away/cleaned up after themselves. The price was very reasonable and the staff is very friendly. We highly recommend them to anyone looking to get a new roof."

"Discovered that my 680 sq ft attic had a nasty bat/mice infestation. After rodent removal/entry sealing was completed by my pest control company, I contracted Atticrawl (utilizing coupon offer discount) to remove the feces-contaminated (blown) insulation, seal up air gap holes with expanding foam, install eave baffles, spray disinfectant on the cleared surface, and install R30 faced batts insulation. Ryan was very thorough in his estimate analysis, not hesitating to navigate my floorless attic and identifying two additional potential entry points/weaknesses requiring sealing with galvanized mesh (attic fan opening and vent windows). Marlon and his crew were very punctual, friendly, and got right down to business, encouraging me to take a look at their progress at each step of the way. Covered all access paths/areas with plastic and left my house spotless. What a difference peace of mind can make. Happy to recommend!"

"Home Energy Repair was very professional and noticed things that other companies overlooked. Due to our roof condition we had to replace all the plywood along with new shingles. Even with the extensive amount of work it still only took them two days. The roof looks gorgeous and they did a great job of keeping in contact with us."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Hightstown, NJ

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
