"DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I am a survivor of domestic violence. Coast to Coast ?God Will Provide,? owned by Joe Pechko, was paid $4,500 by a DV organization to help me relocate. Once they got the money, everything changed. Joe arrived with a smaller truck already filled with personal items, refused to take all my belongings unless I paid more, and made sexist, aggressive comments. He gave me no contract, no receipt, and threatened to cancel the move. The next day he returned my items and promised a refund ? but never gave back a penny. Now they?re demanding even more money and threatening collections. Their office is in Colombia, outside the U.S., and they are illegally operating without proper documentation. This company took donation money meant to help a DV survivor and kept it without doing the job. Filing complaints with authorities is my only option now. Be warned they are dishonest, unethical, and dangerous."

"I cannot say enough great things about All Service Moving—and ESPECIALLY Rico and Reyes, who were absolute lifesavers for my last-minute move. After another moving company bailed on me the day before my scheduled move, All Service swooped in and saved the day. Rico and Reyes showed up EARLY, upbeat, and ready to tackle the challenge—even with super heavy furniture that usually requires a 4-person crew. Somehow, the two of them handled everything like pros without a single scratch or ding—on the furniture or either home. What really stood out was how personable, kind, and thoughtful they were. They moved quickly and efficiently, knowing I was paying by the hour, but never once sacrificed care or quality. They were kind to my mom (who was helping me out), and so sweet to my two dogs too. If you’re planning a move, ask for Rico and Reyes by name. They went above and beyond, and I want their team to know what a fantastic job they did. They deserve every bit of recognition. 100% recommend."

"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

FAQs for out-of-state moving service projects in Hilo, HI

How much money you need to live comfortably in Hawaii varies based on your housing preferences, transportation needs, and lifestyle. Many residents find ways to manage on moderate incomes by choosing less touristy neighborhoods and adapting to local living patterns. Creating a detailed budget that accounts for housing, transportation, groceries, and utilities provides a clearer picture of your specific requirements.

Living in Hawaii on $3,000 monthly is possible with careful budgeting and lifestyle adjustments. Success largely depends on housing costs, which vary significantly between neighborhoods and islands. Many residents find shared living arrangements or smaller accommodations in less expensive areas help manage expenses. Prioritizing necessities, limiting dining out, and embracing local recreational options that don't require significant spending can help stretch your monthly budget while still enjoying island living.

The hidden costs of moving to Hawaii often include unexpected shipping surcharges, agricultural inspection fees, and initial setup expenses. Many newcomers are surprised by delivery access fees for difficult locations, temporary accommodation needs while waiting for household goods, and higher utility deposits. Island-specific expenses like specialized pest control services and humidity-resistant storage solutions may also become necessary. Building a contingency fund of 10 to 15% above your estimated moving budget helps accommodate these unforeseen expenses.

How long it takes to ship household goods to Hawaii depends primarily on your chosen shipping method and departure location. Standard ocean freight often requires three to six weeks from mainland ports, with shared containers sometimes taking longer due to consolidation schedules. Air shipping dramatically reduces transit time to days rather than weeks, but at significantly higher cost. Many residents adopt a hybrid approach, sending essential items by air while allowing bulk possessions to follow by sea.

Whether you need special permits to move to Hawaii depends on the possessions you’re bringing. While American citizens don't need immigration documentation, certain items face strict regulation. Agricultural products, plants, and some animals require special permits or inspection certificates. Vehicle importation requires specific documentation and potential emissions testing. Large shipping containers may need delivery permits in certain residential areas. Consulting with transportation specialists familiar with Hawaii's requirements helps avoid compliance issues.

The items you’re prohibited from shipping to Hawaii include numerous plants, seeds, and fresh produce that might introduce invasive species to the islands' delicate ecosystem. Certain animals face strict prohibition, particularly snakes and other potential invasive species. Hazardous materials, firearms without proper documentation, and controlled substances cannot be shipped. Review current prohibited items lists from shipping companies and Hawaii's Department of Agriculture before packing, as regulations can change, and violations may result in significant penalties.
