"It's been 8 years since my roof was done and it still looks great. I guess the best compliment I've had in a while came from my neighbor who chose Fort Seldon Roofing based on my recommendation and told me how satisfied he was with the entire experience. He said he paid a little more for his energy efficient TPO roof than ordinary roofs from competing roofers but he knows the investment will pay off for years."

"I just wanted to pass on my experience using Mr. Fix It last week when I was having electrical problems in my home. However prior to contacting Mr. Fix, I had several different electrician come to my home and provide estimates. One company was reasonably priced but said the prices could vary depending on what they found. I asked them to explain what vary meant and the price jumped by double! The other company contacted I just did not have that comfortable feeling letting them do work in my home. The information the technician provided me on how he would repair the problem did not sound like the best solution. Well Mr. Fix it sent Aaron, an electrician who has worked for the company since December. Aaron was friendly, courtesy, and extremely professional. Aaron listened to the issues I was having at my home, he then made several trips into the attic and developed a plan to resolve the problem. Aaron was able to rewire my bathrooms without having to cut new outlets or damaging the drywall. He made a challenging task seem simple. The work was estimated to take 6 hours and he completed in 4 ½ hours without even taking a break! After all those trips to the attic Aaron was covered in insulation, sweaty and never once complained. Aaron was organized and cleaned up each area after he completed the work. In addition, Aaron added an outside electrical outlet and checked my kitchen and Arizona room for the same electrical problems that were found in the bathroom. He did find some issues and is developing a plan of attack to correct those in the future. Lastly, it was refreshing finding someone I can trust to work on my home and actually work the entire time he was slotted to be there. Thank you Aaron for putting up with all my questions as well."

"Ernie Haas provided a very thorough examination of our roof which enabled us (after much back and forth with our roofer (DCF Contracting)) to ensure that all necessary and required repairs were made to our roof. Mr. Haas stayed in contact with us for more than a month to ensure that any questions or issues we had were addressed."

"The project went a little longer than projected but given the work needed to rehab a 100 year old house that was no surprise to me. I am happy with the work and when I sell my old house will have Johnny's crew redo the kitchen. The workers are polite, maintain clean work sites, clean up after themselves, and have pride in their workmanship."

"Outstanding experience. The owner, Mark Cesare, runs a great business. He is hands-on involved from the beginning to the end and ensures his crews maintain high standards of workmanship and conduct around the jobsite. He often took the time to explain what was happening and why. I've never spent more money on one transaction with the exception of buying a house or a car, but I'm very comfortable that I got my money's work and have literally ensured a good roof over my family for the rest of our lives, presuming we choose to stay that long. "

"My asphalt driveway needed extensive crack filling and new sealcoat. In
addition, I wanted stone brought in to landscape the backyard, resurface
the carport, and stabilize an eroded area. Leonard came promptly when I
called for a quote on the driveway. I was afraid I might have to use a
separate contractor for the stone, but Leonard said that he could do
both jobs, and gave me what I felt was a fair quote. The work was
scheduled within the timeframe I needed. His crew arrived on time. The
overall job took longer than expected due to a combination of bad luck
(truck breakdown), bad weather (rain), and a bit of disorganization (his
foreman/project manager had just gone on leave), in addition to which I
am very particular and probably added some time to the stone project
with my specific requirements. Nonetheless, throughout it all, Leonard
and his crew remained pleasant and focused on getting the job done
properly. I found Leonard responsive and easy to work with throughout
the job. We decided early on to add some stone to the original quote,
but this was driven by my wishes, rather than a means to inflate the
quote. There was some incidental property damage, for which Leonard took
immediate responsibility, and we came to a satisfactory arrangement on;
damage from heavy equipment to the fragile paving of the street was
repaired at the end of the job. I am very pleased with the work done by
Leonard Slender and my interaction with him and his crew. My driveway
is functionally beautiful: the cracks are thoroughly plugged and sealed
with hot rubber, while the surface is protected by a high-quality
sealer. The stone landscaping is just the way I wanted it and looks
great. I was treated well and received good value for a fair price. I
could have gotten a cheaper quote, but I doubt the quality would have
been the same. I'd use his services again and recommend Leonard Slender
to other Angie's List mebers."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Huachuca City, AZ

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
