"Mike and Jessie at Sammler did a great job on our roof. From the beginning Mike was excellent scoping out the project, incorporating our needs, and bringing a very competitive quote. We appreciated that through the entire process, he didn’t pull any heavy sales, or bait-and-switch tactics. Just a solid guy through and through. Also, when we had a small incident (stuff happens), he made it right without any prodding. We’ve worked with a lot of contractors in the past that just turned their head when similar stuff occurs. It's clear they stand by their quality work. They did a fine job installing a skylight, and sourcing the specific shingle that we wanted. And when all was finished, they did a pretty good job cleaning the mess from the old roof removal. We will definitely use Sammler Roofing on future roofing needs. Thanks guys!"

"The price seemed rather high considering the bid was to replace a metal roof panel which didn't happen. He capped and sealed the chimney vent instead. As it is difficult to find and service people that are willing to do work in Mt Charleston, I am satisfied overall. <br />"

"We just had our roof done in Kings Beach and are thoroughly satisfied <br /> and pleased. We contacted several roofers and not only did Mills call back, <br /> they arrived on time for a scheduled estimate with plenty of information and <br /> samples so we could make a decision easily. Their strength is communication. They <br /> keep in touch through phone and emails and keep to a promised schedule. They are <br /> professional and reliable and did a super job of doing the work in a timely <br /> fashion with absolutely no mess left behind. High recommend them!"

"Matt and crew did a great job replacing our metal roof with a composition roof. He helped us choose a style and color, and helped us address a couple past problems related to melt drainage over our driveway. Great job - quality work, responsive, did what he said they'd do. Not only is our roof in great shape now, the whole exterior of the house looks better."

"The original project was to re-roof the roof where the struts were sagging and other parts had wind damage and shingles missing. Once the project started and they tore into the roof they found that not only were the struts bowed and damaged, they were totally falling apart due to age and the fact that the mobile home was constructed during a time when it wasn't required to have vents installed in the roof so over the years the heat caused the struts to warp. It turned out to be a total new roof. The cost was much more than expected, but I am now a proud owner of a beautiful brand new roof. They did an excellent job in the time they allowed for what they expected to be a far less timely job. I would absolutely use Derek and his team again for my mobile home."

"One of reasons they weren't chosen was it took too long to get their price. . I called a few contractors (including Dand D) at the same time for estimates and the others came and went and supplied me with quotes before Dand D even got back to me..Once an appointment was made they were prompt in getting here, but the quote which was promised for the next day (a Friday) didn't arrive (e-mail) until the following Tuesday. By then I had chosen the compitition."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Incline Village, NV

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
