"A team removed a leaking tank hot water heater and replaced it with a tankless hot water heater. My house is 45 years old and all projects end up being a bit more difficult then on a newer house. The team assessed the existing infrastructures for two HVAC units, a gas dryer, and washer pipes in the utility room. They came up with a plan that Worked around all these vents and wires. They ordered the unit and venting and began working. It was a two day installation because of the Covid delay on shipping the item. After removing the old tank, they installed the new wiring and turned my water on for use in the house overnight. The rest of the project went very smoothly. Ryan stayed with the job the entire time. The owner and another technician came by periodically to see if anything was needed. I couldn t be happier with the job. They cleared all job materials at the end of each day. They are very courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them for anyone replacing hot water heaters, cleaning laundry drains , and repairing leaking toilets because after they finished the hot water heater, I hired them to come back and do two additional jobs at my house."

"I hired Queen City Plumbing to replace my A.O. Smith water heater with a Bradford White 50 gallon superheater. Ed showed up on time, was very professional, and completed the job in a timely manner. After the new heater was installed, Ed took the time to show me how the controls worked and how to adjust the mixing valve to adjust water temperature. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely call them again. I would also recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber."

"Gentile Plumbing installed a hot water heater back in August and I thought I was having a problem with it due to low pressure on hot and cold. I called them on a Sunday and did not expect an answer and if they did to come out on a Sunday. The owner James Gentile answered and I gave him our address to look up our work order and when he came back on the phone he stated he would be out within the hour that they warranty all there work. He arrived within an hour and after close examination stated it was the PRV which is close to the hot water heater causing an issue. He stated it was overlooked and should have been looked at being it was so close to the hot water heater and changed it out for no charge and now all is great. That is a company that stands behind all work they do and hard to find now a days. Thank you Gentile Plumbing.. Highly recommend this Company to all"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Indian Trail, NC

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
